Horse Race.
Mr. John Oiks, of Liwrenceville, and
Mr. J. W, Thurmond, of Statham. had
a very exciting horse race here last Sat
urday. Thurmond’s horse was winner
by 93 feet in a race of GOO yards. A
large crowd went out to see the race
and ovn-y thing passed off quietly,
J. Sheer, Sedalla. Mo., conductor on
electric street car line, writes that his
daughter wa very low with croup, and
her life saved after all physicians had

Dr. Ross was returning home last

Mr. Hamilton, the night operator at
the Seabord depot is off for a few weeks
vacation and has been relieved by Mr-

Bill Harrison, the genial character
that makes Pendergrass one of the
noted towns of Jackson county, spent
Wednesday in Winder.
Last Sunday some parties went out
to the saw mill of Mr. Francis Jackson,
a few miles from town, and did a lot of
damage by cutting the belts and break
ing the water guages, The loss will
amount to S6O. or more aud the guilty
parties ought to be apprehended and
punished.
