Deering Ideal Mowers
With Rubber and Ball Bearing.
Beei'ng Roller BearingMower4l-2 &5 ftcut,
A round of stnrthng victories has marked the path of the Deering
Ideal Mower. No grass is too heavy or two light; no land is too rough
and no surface is too severe for this plucky little hero. Instead of fric
tion bearing it has trolleys and halls ; the crank shafts parralel with the
ground so that the Self Adjusting Pitman moves steadily back and
forth in workman like fashion. The serrated lodger plates hold the
grass like the roller of a feed cutter, and nothing can escape or draw in
under the sickle. Th-> adjustable drag bar pays the interest on the
investment. The driver of the Ideal Mower can cut as slow as he likes,
and is never necessary to hack when starting the machine. The use
of the roller and ball bearings has eliminated friction, and instead of
grinding the bearings, all the power is used iu cutting the grass.
Don’t waste your time and money by using old out of date machines,
but buy the Deering Roller Bearing Ideal Mower.

DR. BANKS AGAIN.
Read the Endorsement of
an Excellent Man and
Minister.
Winder, Ga. July 20, ’99.
This certifies that my wife has been
afflicted for a period of eighteen years,
at times in bed for three or four months.
I decided to employ Dr. Edward Banks
of Bowman, Ga., to treat her and de
sire to say that her relief has been
wonderful. During hor afflictions she
had been treated by more than one
dozen physicians, with, only temporary
relief. My wife boldly asserts now that
she feels better than since her marriage a
period of eighteen years. Dr Banks has
also treated me, and I am frank to say
that I have been wonderfully relieved
J cheerfully recommend Dr. Banks to
all afflicted people. Give him a trial
and see for yourself.
Very truly
J. C. Patrick, Minister.

Dead.
Dr. A. A. DeLaPerriere died las
Monday night at his home five miles
above Hoschton after an illness of sev
eral weeks. He was buried yesterday
it Zion church just above Hoschton be
side pis only child, a bright young man
who was accidentally killed a few years
ago. The Economist learned of the
death of Dr. DeLaPerriere with much
sadness as he was a warm friend of onrs
ever since we were a boy. He was be
tween 55 and 60 years of age, and was
a brave confederate soldier.
He had been in failing health for a
number cf years and had this year been
up on his farm in Hall county. He was
i man of many noble traits of character
and one great redeeming feature that
was strong iu his makeup was that he
was ever true to h : s friends and never
forgot a kindness. We had known him
intimately since our bojbood days and
he had always been a strong friend to ns.
Dr DeLaFerrie.ie was a strong reformer
and did every thing in his power to pro
mote the cause he believed right and just-.
We trust his soul is resting in peace in
a world where there is no pain nor sor
row .

AUGUST FLOWER
'•lt is a surprising fact,” says Prof.
Houton, "that in my travels in all parts
of the world, sor the last teu years I have
met many people having used Green’s
Augu-1 Flower than any other remedy,
for dyspepsia, deraug liver and stomach,
and for constipation. I find for tourists
and salesmen, or for persons filling office
positions, where headaches and general
bad feelings from irregular habits exist,
that Green’s August Flower is a grand
remedy. It does not injure the system
by frequent use, and i3 excellent for sour

Points On Advertising.
“After a ball starts to roll it will go a
certain distance merely by reason of its
own momentum.
“The bigger and heavier it is the lur
ther it will roll. It may have been pret
ty hard to start it in the first place, but
once you get it going, a little push now
and then will be all that is necessary.
“If the ground is soft aud rough you
will have to push pretty hard. When
you get a smooth place, it will be easier.
•‘The ball of business is hard to move
in hot weather. The ground is more or
less sticky, and there is a great deal of
friction. Still, if you push hard enough
yon can move it.
“In the fall when the weather has
made the road to trade easier and
smoother, you will not have to push so
hard, unless you want the ball to go
faster. If you do not push at all, it
will come to a standstill even on a sheet
of glass.
“Somebody has said “that the time to
advertise is all the time,” and that is
one of the smartest things that wasevor
uttered.
“If you do not advertise in the sum
mer—if you do not push the bail at all
—it will stop. If you do not advertise
in the busy season, business will go on
for a certain time at a slow rate of speed.
But if you want to get over a good deal
of ground in a short time, better push
it along lively.”—The American.

From Texas.
EriToit Economist:— l am alone to
night, and have deoided to write you a
few items.
I am here hard at work—have a very
nice class—will close 29th iust. With a
grand concert. This is my second 20
days Normal this summer. My health
is very poor—has been all summer. The
weather is awful hot, the thermometer
stands at 108 to 110 in the shade. ’Tis
very dry here, stock suffering for want
of water, many are dying. The cotton
crop is almost a failure It looks like it
is dead—the leaves are dry aud off the
stalk. The corn crop is not good, but
is much better than the cotton.
Iu some sections crops are very good
—but it is dry all over the state now, or
very nearly so.
The farmers here make one very great
mistake—they save no fodder, and de
pend on grass—and this year the grass
is a failure, and the fodder is dried . up
on the stalk. Hay is being sold at 50
cents per 100 pouuds right from th
meadow. ,
Crops in Arkansas, where I passed,
seemed to be good and the Mississippi
bottoms are as fine as can be So when
one section fails another produces an
abundance, and the world moves on.
I have about decided that Georgia is
the most favored section to be found. I
am proud of my native state. I find
that Georgians are respected above those
from other states, even iu Texas. I
find many goo 1 people here, iouia of
the most intelligent and refined society
to be fouud is in Texas. The people are
more content, than in the old states. I
hear no grumbling on account of short
crops.
Protracted meetings, picnics, sing
ings, etc. are numerous aud every body
seems to be happy, unless its some old
state fellow who has not b>ea accus
tomed to such. lis being content with
what one has that brings satisfaction.
A contented mind is a source of enjoy
ment. I will return to Georgia iu a
few weeks to spend some time. 1 have
a lot of work to do iu that state. I have
many calls from other states, to hold
Normal Institutes, but I will have to
desist, on account of my health, and re
turn to Georgia. Good health is worth
every thing, and one can soon find this
out when be is deprived of it. There is
much sickness here, and many deaths.
Slow fever is in almost every family.
The physicians have a picnic at this
season of the year, but some of them
will whistle another tune when pay day
comeg.
I will bring this epistle to a close for
fear I worry you and vour subscribers.
Wishing you much success aud trust
ing I will be able to take you by the
hand ere long, I bid you good night.
