Missionary Colporter Otwell will be

Mr. Soott Camp, who has been at
Lumberton, Mies., for ajyear, reached
Winder Tuesday night to spend awhile.
His friends here were glad to see him.
Soott has done well in Mississippi.
Mr. Leroy Morris brought in several
new subscribers last week for The
Economist from Walton county. Not
a single week has passed this year with
out adding new names to our list.

Mr. J. H Strickland, one of the clev
er aud solid men of Clarksboro district,
was here Monday. Mrs. Strickland
came with him and took the train for
Tucker to visit her father, Judge Simp
kins. We greatly enjoyed a call from
him while iu the city.

Miss Mary Leila Moore, of White
Plaius, Greene couuty, was elected by
the trustees of Galilee school last week
as their teacher for another year. She
is a graduate of the Normal school and
is highly recommended as a fine teacher
and an accomplished young lady in

Miss Lillie Estes is spending some
time with her grandmother, Mrs. Lew
ellen of Gillsville who is very ill. Mr.
and Mrs. Estes had arranged to bring
Mrs. Lewellen here last Saturday to
stay with them during the winter, but
received a telegram from Miss Lillie she
was worse and could not make the trip.

his mother and other relatives of our

Hit With a Brick.
John Woodie, colored, was hit in the
face with a briok last Tuesday afternoon
by Joe Slaton, oolored, and braised np
considerably. John says he can’t under

an act as there had been no difference
between them.
