Bond of Nicholson waa knocked down and robbed last Thursday night while going home from his place of business. He is one of the leading business men of Nicholson and postmas ter of that place. He was struck a ter rific blow on the head, but his hat broke its force, partially, other wise death would have resulted. His pockets were turned wrong side out and about |2B in cash were prooured beside the keys to the postoffice, which ’ was afterwards looted. The last reports are that he will recover from the lick. The Economist hopes to soon hear of his complete recoverv and that the guilty party will De convicted and pun ished. We have known Mr. Bond for a number of years, and can truthfully say there is no more upright and better cit izen in Jaokaon County than he. USED BY BRITISH SOLDIERS IN AFRICA. Capt C. G. Dennison is well known all over Africa as commander of the forces that captured the famous rebel Galishe.
