PENTECOST.
We have seen nothiugfrom this place
in some time and take pleasure in writ
ing a few locals to let the people here
from us.
The farmers are most through gather
ing and most of them are at leisure.
The crops with us are short but we
should not grumble. Your scribe had
the pleasure of riding over Ocouee coun

are nothing like as good as here. Some
of the farmers were plowing up their
cotton curing the stalks for forage.
We are glad to say that Mrs. W. R.
Segars, who has been sick for some time
is slowly improving.
Mr. W. J. Jones, of near this place,
had the misfortune to get his barn with
all his fodder and hay burned last Friday

saved. It is not known how the fire
originated, but it looks like it was set
on fire from outside.

Rev. J. C. Patrick preached an able
