v CORRESPONDENTS. JEFFERSON. Miss Julia Bell visited Miss Alice El der in the country last Saturday and Sunday. Mr. W. H. Williamson and Mrs. T. W. Webb visited Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Bullock at Dmiolsville last week. Mr. E. C. Mahaffey spent last Sun day at Hoschton Misses Clydo Story and Ina Hardy are spending awhile in Harmony drove. Mrs. Carrie Haynie and Mrs. Sue Potts, from near Nicholson, visited friends and relatives hero last Monday Miss Crawford Daniel spent last Sat urday and Sunday in the country the gaest of Miss Inez Boggs. Miss Louise Pendergrass visited her cousin, Mrs Lacy Carr, at Maysville this week. Mrs. L Y. Bradbury, who has been quite ill with grippe, is some better this week. Qaite a number of our young people attended the singing at Galilee last Sunday. Mr. E. C. Mahaffey and his charming s'ster, Miss Fannie, ontertained a few of their friends with a sociable last Fri day night. Those present were Miss Eddie Dickson aud Mr. Emory William son, Miss Erl McCoy and Mr. Dule Hutchins, Miss Maud Chandler and Mr E. C. Mahaffey, Miss Eula Aamistead and Mr. Joe McGarity, aud Messrs J. B. Moo.e, H. W. Bell, Jr., aud George Story. NO RIGHT TO UGLINESS. Fulcher spent Sunday last week with relatives at Statham. Rev. H. B. Mays will fill his regular appointment at Lebanon church next Saturday and Sunday. The service on Saturday will be in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Tucker, of Stat ham, spent a portion of last week in this section the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. W, Shields. Quite a number of eur young people attended a musical entertainment last Saturday night at the home of Mr. C. A. Brock, near Clarksboro. McGarity, of Jefferson, called around Monday and spent a while with Mr. W. R. Segars. In his genial way and funny Jokes made all enjoy his visit. Mr. McGarity is a clev er man and excellent preacher. Mr. W. J. Haynie, Sr., visited his brother, Mr. J. M. Haynie Monday. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Nicholson were the guests of Mrs Niokolson's mother in Oconee Sunday. Misses Azzie and Cammie Hammond spent Sunday with Miss Ethel Steed. The Sunday school was organized at this plaoe Sauday with a bright pros i pact of having a good school. If no good cause b i shown to the con trary an order will be granted by me on the 24th day of March 1900, establishing the following contemplated public road, viz: No. 1 In the 245th District, G M, of said county, beginning at a point near the colored peoples Baptist church in Jefferson and running in a westerly di rection through the lauds of Robert Morris and Hike Hawkins, crossing Hawkins’ creek about two hundred yards below the present crossing, and crossing the present Lawrenceville road near Hike Hawkins house; thence along the private road of J. N. Hardy and T. H. Niblack to the Oconee river crossing the river near where Beaver Ruin creek enters the river where the new bridge is located, thence by the old Howard Still house place; thence intersecting the Flowery Branch road near the residence of H. R. Howard.- No. 2. In 242 District, G. M. of said county, commencing at the most desir able point near the residence of E. M. Cox aud running from that point to where the same will connect with the new road which Clarke county has opened and graded to its county line, so that the above road will be a continua tion of the same.
