The streets and sidewalks have been put in good condition and the sanitary condition of the town is well looked after by Marshal Blaltoy as well as an observance of the town ordinances. Au effort is on foot to make Perry Rainey College a branch of the State Normal. Au honorable aud trusted negro, John Thomas, from Walton county died here last Friday night after ad illness of 24 hours with congestive chill. Prof. J. C. Flanigan will not remain •in charge of Perry-Rainey college an other year, but will instead engage in the practice of law. A strong effort will be made to retain Prof. Maxwell. All the Sunday schools of Auburn will picnic t Park’s Mill in May. Miss Maggie Mobley is visiting her sister, Mrs Steed in Jackson county. Rev. L. F. Jecksou has so far improv ed to resame his pastoral work. Mi. J. C. Mobley has a hen egg on exhibition at Auburn weighing nearly one—fourth of a pound. It is hoped that Rsv. Miss Mattie Rider is spending several days with her grandmother at Pender grass. Mrs. Liz i Spence has been confined to her bed for Several days. Miss May Sue Dunahoo spent one day last week with Lola Cheat ham. Miss Azzie Hammond was the guest of Mrs. W. N. Strange part of last week.
