Mr. D. L. Hill Dead.
Mr. D. L. Hill died last Saturday
night at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
John W. Graham, after au illness last
ing for several weeks,
Uncle Dave Hill, as everybody
knew him, was one of the pioneer citi
zens of this section having settled here
before the town did. He was one of
our prosperous farmers, a man who al
ways lived at home and made his farm
self-sustaining.
He was just past his 71st year and
had enjoyed remarkable health all his
life. His last sickness was likely the
only severe spell ho had. Just one
year ago he lost his wife and now he
joins her in the happy reunion of
eternity.
His remains wero buried at Chapel
last Sunday evening, where a large
crowd of friends and relatives gathered
to witness the last sad rites. Rw. E
L. McDaniel conducted the services.

Winder Tuesdav shaking hands with
the people. Col. Pike has an announce

candidate for Senator of the 33d senato
rial district.

Dr. W. L. Bush arrived at Winder
Friday night from Baltimore, Md.,
where he has been taking lectures in
dentistry. He is now a full fledged
dentist, and his many friends here are

Big Hale.
Gwinnett county must have had one
of the biggest hales last Wednesday
evening ever known in this country.
It was from (5 inches to 3 feet deep and
in drifts it was 0 feet deep. The bulk
of hale fell in and near Snellsvillo do
