RANDOLPH ACADEMY.
We had some good singing last Sun
day by Prof. Crow. He will teach a
clas c in vocal music here some time this
summer.
The two year'old child of Mr. Will
Johnson was buried at Zion last Wed
nesday.
Mr. Joh W. Baird is fanning the flies
off a bouncing girl this week. It made
its appearance last Sunday night.
Messrs. W. H. Cooper, Jr., Adison
Davis and several others went from
this place on the rxcurtiou last Wednes
day.
Prof. J. B. livin was down at Pat
rick’s Academy first of the week in the
interest of his school at that plaoe.
Several of our folks have had the
“blues” for some time, and they are
now relapsed, but we dou’t think they
are veiy dangerous yet if they can get
plenty of fresh air and sunshire. But
we cannot possibly make a full crop.
Prof. White’s school will not begin
until the second Monday in July on ac
count of crops being so late.
\ye want to see a full Populist ticket
in the field soon, one that cannot be
beaten, for we are in better condition
to win than ever before, and that is
what we are going to do.

Par. 2nd. That the object of said as
sociation is the engaging in for pecuni
ary piofit of the mann actunng of cast
ing, the building of and the repairing
of machinery, the building and repair
ing of agricultural implements, the en
gaging in of all work common to like
business.
Par. 3rd. Petitioners further ask for
the privilege of baying, bolding and sell
ing pioperty both real and personal, to
sue and be sned, to borrow money, to
have and nse a common seal and to ex
ercise all power usually conferred upon
corporations of similar character as may
be consistent with the laws of the State
of Georgia.
Par. 4th. Petitioners farther show that
the capital stock of said corporation is
Ten Thousand dollars, divided in shares
of one hundred dollars each—ten per
cent, of which has been paid in. Peti
tioners ask fer the privilege of increas
ing said capital 6tock to any amount not
exceeding Twenty-five Thousand dol
lars, whenever they may desire.
Par. sth. Petitioners further show
that the officers of said corpe ration shall
consist of a President, Vice-President,
a General Manager, and a Secretniy and
Treasurer, who shall be elected by the
stock holders of said corporation, each
stock holder in all elections or transac
tions of bnsiness to have one vote for
each share of stock owned.
Par. fith. Petitioners ask that the
corporate powers of said association
shall be exercised by a board of direct
ors elected by the stockholders who
shall number not less than three nor
more than five.
Par. 7th. Petitioners further ask that
the subscribers and stockholder of said
corporation be exempt from individnal
liability for its debts, contracts and
obligations, except as is provided in
paragraph 3of section 2350 of the civil
code of 1895.
Par. Bth. Petitioners desire the priv
ilege and rights to make such by-laws,
roles and regulations as may be neces
sary for the purpose of conducting the
business of said corporation.
Par. 9th. Petitioners pray the grant
ing this their petition that they and
their associates and successors be incor
porated for and during the term cf

MOUNTAIN CREEK.
Preaching and Snnday school were
rained ont last Satnrday and Sunday.
Mr. J. D. Bridges and family spent
Saturday and Snnday with Rev. W. H.
Bridges.
Mrs. Minor Simmons spent a few
days at Statham this week.
The wheat crop is somewhat damaged
by the continued rains and bottom land

Cotton that was planted early is look
ing fine, but the late planting is not
so good. Many are not through chop
ping ont yet.
We had qnite a storm here Sunday
for a few minutes.
The death angel visited the home of
Mr. George Hayes on Thursday, June
21st., and took away the infant babe of
the family. It was buried at this place
on Jnne 22.
