Last fall I sDrained my left hip while
handling some heavy boxes. The doc
tor 1 called on said at first it was a
slight strain and would soon be well,
but it grew worse and the doctor then
said I had rheumatism. It continued
to grow worse and I could hardly get
around to work. I went to a drag store
and the druggist recommended me to
try Chamberlain’s Pain Balm. I tried
it and one-half of a 50 cent bottle cared
me entirely. 1 now recommend it to

The wolf in the fable put on sheep’s
clothing because if he traveled on his
own reputation he couldn't accomplish
his purpose. Counterfeiters of DeWitt’s
Witch Hazel Salve couldn’t sell their
worthless salves on their merits, so they
put them in boxes and wrappers like
DeWitt’s Look out for them. Take
only DeWitt’s Witch Hazel Salve. It
cures piles and all skin diseases. G. W.
DeLaPerriere.
Going to China.
Mr. W. C. Horton left yesterday for
Washington City and will leave in a
few days for China where he has an
important position in the government
postal service. Will is the oldest son of
Mr. H. C. Horton of our city and has
been in the postal service for several
years. He is a fine business man and
his many friends here regretted very
much to see him leave. The Economist
hopes he will have a safe trip and be as
successful in far away China as he has
in his native country.
The Carnival
and Street Fair.
The Carnival and Street Fair which
comes off here on the last week in Au
gust will be the biggest thing ever soon
in Winder. There ought to be six or
eight thousand people here every day
-during the time.
Chinese are dangerous enemies, for
they are treacherous. That’s why all
counterfeits of DeWitt’s Witch Hazel
Salve are dangerous. They look like
DeWitt’s, but instead of the all-healing
witch hazel they all contain ingredients
liable to irritate the skin and oause
blood poisoning. For piles, injuries
and skin diseases use the original and
genuine DeWitt’s Witch Hazel salve.

The Excursion Last Week.
Thirty or more of our oitizens went
on the excursion to Charleston last
week and all of them greatly enjoyed
the trip. After getting to Sooial Circle
the Winder crowd had a car all to
themselves and were made quite com
fortable.
Mr. J. A. Mobley, the clever agent at
this place for the G. J. & S. railroad,
looked after the Winder delegation and
did everything possible for their pleasure
and comfort"
Mrs. N. J. Kelly, Mrs. G. W. DeLa-
Perriere, Mrs. Judson Jackson. Mrs. Z.
F. Jackson and Mrs. Bradley looked
after the young people as well as the
older ones and aided much in making
the trip a 'pleasant] one. Sullivan’s
Island and the Isle of Palms were visit
ed during their stay in Charleston and
also a boat ride oat on the ocean 35
miles and back. Most of the parties on
the excursion went in snrf bathing over
at the Isle of Palms and had a delight
ful time. A large party went from Jef
ferson, Hoschton and Gainesville as
well as from Monroe and Social Circle.
In India, the land of famine, thous

many suffer and die because they can
not digest the food they eat. Kodol

It instantly relieves and radically cures
all stomach troubles. G. W. DeLaPer
