Some Corrections.
Editor Economist.— We be* to cor
rect two statements made by your
Statham correspondent in your last
week’s paper. One ia that we have no
school teacher here for auother year.
Thia is quite an error as it is a well
known Mr. Cobb Mathews, of
Clarke oounty, came here about one
month ago and secured fifty-one sub
scribed scholars and will commence his
first term in October 1900.
As the average school attendance at
thia place does not exceed twenty-five
pupils, we think the number he secured
ought to entitle him to the school. Mr.
Mathews oomes highly recommended
and will no doubt give entire satisfac-
tion.
In writing above no refl motion is in
tended whatever on our present worthy
and most excellent teacher aa she was
not an applicant for the school and had
already expressed herself as not want
ing the place.
Your oorrespondent’s previous writ
ings in regard to the school at this
place have caused considerable amuse
ment by those who understood the facts
in the case and knew the man who was
doing the writing.
The other statement we refer to is
the one concerning the writer. There
is not one iota of truth in the stetement
he made about me as oan be attested to
by nearly everyone that was in Statham
Sunday before last Respeotfully,
Willie Lanier.
DOES IT PAY TO BUY CHEAP?
A cheap remedy for ooughs and colds
is all right, but you want something
that will relieve and cure the more se
vere and dangerous results of throat and
lung troubles. What shall you do?< Go
to a warmer and more regular climate?
Yes, if possiple; if not posible for you,
then in either case take the ONLY rem
edy that has been introduced in all civ
ilized countries with success for severe
throat and lungs troubles, Boschee’s
German Syrup.” It not only heals and
stimulates the tissues to destroy the
germ disease, but allays inflammation,
causes easy expectoration, gives a good
night’s rest, and cures the patient. Try
one bottle. Recommended many years
by all druggists in the world. Sample
bottle at Winder Drug Cos. Winder,
