Sad Death.
Hattie Lou Stanton, the only child of
Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Stanton, of our city,
died last Friday after many days of
patient suffering. She was twelve years
of age and one of the brightest and
sweetest little girls in Winder, and her
death caused much sadness and gloom
among our people.
The funeral service at the Methodist
church Saturday wa3 largely attended
as all our people loved Hattie Lou aud
wanted to show their last tribute of re
spect to her memory.
It is a crushing blow to her pare nts
.as they were devotedly attatohed to heri
their only child.

Miss Hattie Alexander and Mr H. C.
Barnett, of Harrisburg district, this
county, were united in marriage at the
home of the bride’s brother-in-law, Mr.
J. H. Maley, on last Thursday, Rev.
Mr. Abram pe forming the oeremoney.
Mr. Barnett is one of the leading farm
ers of his section and one of Harris -
burg’s clever and good citizens. The
bride is a popular woman and well
known in her part of of the county and
has a large circle of friends.

A Foot Amputated,
Master Guy McDaniel, who happened
to such a serious accident about two
weeks ago at the ginuery of Mr. W. H.
! Kimbell, of which mention has already
been made in The Economist, had to
have hia foot amputated this week. He
is getting on very well now and it ia
hoped by his many friends here that
he will in a few weeks te up again.
Bounce Is Dead.
Bounoe, who was better known pel*-
haps in Slid around Winder than anjr
dog that was ever a resident of our city,
departed this life last Thursday. Bounce
was owned hy Mr. O’Neal, our bottling
man, and accompanied him in all of his
rounds. His death was caused from a
kick by Mr O’Neal’s horse' Bounce was
a great favorite among the children of
Winder and will be missed by them.
