Railroad at this place for two yeais, is now working for the South ern road between Atlanta and Chatta nooga as flagman. He stood the exam ination last week, which is r quired now by all roads, and was given a place that is paying him well. Dana sticks to anything in which he engages and t-ere is no trouble for him to got a j >b. He likes railroading and we predict that before many years he will have a posi tionthatis quite lucrative as well as respou-ible. The grat trouble with many young men at the present time is that they are deficient in sticking qual ities and proving to those for whom they work that there is something in them deserving promotion. The greatest mistake a young man can make in life, outside of sobriety and honesty, is to see how little he can do to hold a job and to take no interest in the success of those for whom he works. We are proud to note the success of Dana Whitehead and hope he will con tinue to rise and succeed in railroad circb s. He has the elements to bring about this result. HODGES GAMP & ARNOLD. To Build Up A Town Takes talk as well as money. You musi keep a place be ore the p< o £ .le and contiuue to let them know us advan tages etc. It is tiue that some places are favored more than others and it takes less tffort to keep them booming and growing, but, nevertheless, it takes talk and lots of it as well as money to have a thriv ing town or city. It is generally admit ted that Winder has greater advan tages and opportunities than most places in Georgia for becoming a city and is now growing at a rapid rate, but it mu=t also be admitted that had it not been for the persistaul talk of Dr. Bash, who has always made It a point to tell the vorl 1 at large of these advantages and what it was destined to be in a few years, Winder today would have been only a .‘-mall village While Dr. Bush has been enterprising and done wonders in developing our little city with his capi f a', b s persistency in talking the plr.c' nas resulted i t equally as nodi tow oris :ts growth and prosper ity. Through this agency men of money have come here and invested, and the two ingredients properly mixed, always produco the desired effect. Money is necessary, but talk is also necessary, and if you have not the former ingredi ent you should have the latter and never bo aaaid to use it when you strike a patient. Death Of Little Boy.
