Wives are said to be cheaper in Tur
key now than ever. This can hardly
he truthfully said of American wives.
Speaking of the double standard —
Girls seem to forget that there must
be two in the making of it,.
When a man is just getting over a
drink created by modern bind tiger li
ipior he would have to stand on the
Candler building to look a flee dog in
the eye.
Seeing a dress these times down to
the shoe tops causes one to look and
see if it isn’t falling off completely.
Now since Harding has been inaugu
rated the farmers who were agin Wil
son and the Democratic administration
ought to be satisfied with the price of
cotton.
Wonder if J. J. Brown, Harvie Jor
don et al will now put cotton prices
up.
The present style of women’s shoes
is due to the fact that some folks try
to elevate their minds by raising their
heels.
Possibly the reason George Wash
ington never lied was because in his
day there were so few things to lie
about, and so little profit to gain by pre
varicating.
Carefully surveying the past we are
forced to conclude that xve are not
much worse than our forefathers, and
a great deal better in many respects
than they were.
Dancing, lewdness, gambling were so
popular in the days of Nebuchadnezza,
that even the best people failed to pro
test against them in the Babylon Her
ald.
If some girls had to eall on their
beaus and sit on a stuffy sofa and he
peeked at by his little brothers they
would he more prompt in the future
when their fellows called.
Times are, tough if you make money
they get you for taxes, if you don’t
they get you for loafing. Fact of the
business they are going to get you
anyway, do or net do.

The Pneumonia Month.
March is a typical pneumonia month
and usually gives a high rate of mor
tality for the disease. After a long
and hard winter, the system loses
much of its resistance and people grow
cureless. When every cold, no matter
how slight, is given prompt and intel
ligent, attention, there is such less dan
ger of pneumonia. It should be borne
in mind that pneumonia is a germ dis
ease and breeds in the throat. Cham
berlain’s Cough Remedy is an expecto
rant and cleans out the germ ladened
mucus and not only cures a cold but
prevents its resulting in pneumonia. It
is pleasant to take. Children take it
willingly.
