Home-Coming Day Is
Observed at Carter Hill
Services last Sunday Was Largely
Attended and an Interesting Pro
gram Waa Carried Out.
The morning program included some
special songs, the Lord's Supper, and
a very practical sermon by Bro. MclXui
ald. His subject was “Making Ulad,
the Lives of Others.” Basing his re
-marks upon th,e anointing of Jesus by
Mary. And notwithstanding the fact
that tlie house was tilled to overflowing
they gave good attention to the entire
discourse, lie admonished the large
audience to labor to make glad the
lives of others in four ways, viz: iu
the world at large; in the community;
in the church and in the home.
At the noon hour the dinner was all
put together “picnic fashion” and suf
fice it to say that only those who were
permitted to partake of this bountiful
feast can tell of the many good things
served. \
In the afternoon one of Carter Hill's
young men, Bro. Owen Stili, who is the
District Hvangelist of the dis
trict, delivered a very impressive ser
mon. taking for his subject “Mother."
The members of this congregation are,
indeed, proud to claim this young man
as one of their own.
The afternoon program was conclud
ed with a service of song. Taking it
altogether the day was thoroughly en
joyed by all present, and we believe
that lasting good was accomplished by
these services.
So let us all thank God for the good
day spent so pleasantly together and
take courage for the future.
