THURHDAY, JULY 14. 1921. Physicological Ac tion of Tanlac Explained World’s Leading Authorities Show Just What Tanlac Really Is and Explain Effect of Each of Ten Ingredients on .the Human System Power of Medicine Conclusively Proven. A day never passes but what tlionyans of people ask the questions: What Is Tanlac? Why its phenomenal success? Why do we hear so much about it.' and Why has this preparation so far out stripped all other medicines of its kind? The answer to these questions is easy and can be explained in just one word merit. Tanlac is scientifically compounded and represents years of work, study, experimentation and research by some of the foremost chemists and pharmacologists of America. The Tanlac formula is purely ethical and complies with all National nud State pure food laws. It. is purely veg etable and is made from the most bene ficial roots, herbs and barks known to Materia Medica. The Tanlac Labora tories are among the largest and most modernly equipped In this country. Ten Ingredients in Tanlar. Altogether, there are ten ingredients in Tanlac, each of which is of recog nized therapeutic value. In referring to one of the more 1 im portant ingredients of Tanlac, the En cyclopedia Itritannica, says: “It lias been (he source of the most Valuable tonic medicines that have ev er been discovered.” lii referring to other of the general tonic drugs contained in Tanlae, the 13th Edition of Potter’s Therapeutics, u standard medical text-book, states that “they impart general tone and strength to the entire system, including all organs and tissues.” This same well-known authority in describing the pli.vsicological action of still another of the ingredients of Tan lae, which is of value in treating what is commonly known ns a “run-down condition,” uses the following expres sion : ‘ It is highly esteemed in b'ss of ap petite during convalescence from acute diseases.” There are certain other elements in instance Tour neighbor’s home burned only a few days or months ago and a likely to strike tills section nt any time, so INSURE with US t night with a clear conscience and a peaceful mind. Tanlac which, because of their influ ence upon the appetite, digestion, as similation and elimination, improve the nutrition and vital activity of all the tissues and organs of the body ami produces that state of general tonicity which is called health. The rill ted States Dispensary makes tin* following comment regard ing another ingredient: "It may be used in all cases of pure debility of the digestive organs or where a general tonic impression is required.” There are certain other ingredients described in the Dispensatory, and in other standard medical text-books, as having a beneficial action upon the or gnus of secretion, whose proper func tioning results in purification of the blood streams passing through them. In this manner, objectionable and poi sonous ingredients of the blood are removed and the entire system invig orate and vitalized. Tonic and Body Builder. Tanlae was designed primarily for the correction of disorders of the stom ach, liver and bowels. At the same time, however, it is a powerful recon structive tonic and body builder, for it naturally follows that any medicine that brings about proper assimilation of the food and the thorough elimina tion of the waste products must, there fore, have a far-reaching and most beneficial effect upon the tntire system. BIRD’S EYE VIEW OF NINTH DIS TRICT EDITORS. (Continued from page 2) House three terms. Twice he was elected without opposition, a distinc tion that no other Georgian has ever enjoyed. His faithfulness and efficien cy is shown in the fact that during his entire administration as speaker no one ever appealed for his decision. Mr. Merlin Jones of the Gainesville Eagle has the honor of being the edi tor of the only daily paper published in the district. It Is yet young in age hut shows unmistakable signs of be ing well nutured. There are two ministers of the gos pel who are editors in the district. These are Mr. Merlinjones, of Gaines ville, and our president, Mr. McWhort er. of the Winder News. To these two gentlemen, the editors of the district would pay special homage. No honor higher can be paid to anyone than to say he is accredited minister of the gospel. In tills connection would not neglect to pay tribute to another minister, who is, by reason of his long love and ser vice for many of the papers of the dis trict, a member of this body. We refer to Rev. W. H. Faust, of Winder, the ‘‘Snap Shots” of the state of Georgia. He is a fine platform speaker, a pun gent writer, and a leading minister of tlie gospel. He loves everybody and is is loved by all who know him. A Closing Word. And what shall we say of the per sonnel of the editors of the 9th con gressional district as a whole? Only a few of them are college graduates. Our information touching this feature is limited, but so far ns we know, Mr. Holder, of the Herald, and Mr. Harber of the Observer, are the only editors of the group who are college graduates. The bulk of them are of the cornfield variety. They are of the common peo ple possessed of good hard common sense. They belong to the middle class if people. We believe they will com pare favorably with the editors of any ongressionnl district in the state, not excepting the fifth district. Rost of all, they are clean men of outstanding traits of moral character and men who be- lieve in the communities in which they live. They are interested in state and national affairs but home boosters first of all. They are usually found on the right side of all moral questions. They are advocates of education, good schools and good roads, agriculture, and taken as a whole, they are Christian gentle men. If this estimation is correct, what shall we say of the personnel of the editors as an asset for the district. Who can depict the contrast in the ef fect of their seed sowing, if instead of prohibitionists, they were advocates of strong drink; instead of advocating education and intelligence they oppos ed schools and colleges; instead of ad vocating a high standard of morals, they gave the weight of their influence to all that is vile and degrading; in stead of being advocates by precept and example of our holy Christian religion they were enemies of the church and Christianity. This brief contrast Serves to show the type of men who preside over the destinies of the news papers of the district and of tlieir val ue as an asset. A Great Constiuency. We editors have a great constlouen gy. The nineteen counties in the fftli district embrace five thousand six hun dred and eighty-four square miles and n these counties we have a population •>f two hundred and twenty-eight thou sand seven hundred and flftyone souls. Ours is a great opportunity for service. Will we measure up to the opportunity and rightly discharge the obligations •esting upon us? These are questions every editor must answer for himself, each in his own way and in his own sphere. A Splendid Medicine for the Stomach and liver. “Chamberlain's Tablets for the stom ach anti liver are splendid. I never tire of telling my friends and neighbors of their qualities,” writes Mrs. William Vollmer, Eastwood, N. Y. When bil ious, constipated or troubled with in digestion, give them a trial. They will do you good. Lake's Level Has Fa'*er'. The pre-hlstorlc Lake Tahoe was larger and deeper than the present lake. During the Neocene epoch and earlier part of the Pleistocene epoch Its water stood much higher, but In Its overflow It has cut through the lava dams that maintained it at the height. Reaches that mark the for mer h'gher level are about 100 feet above the present surface end doubt less tbe wHter once stood even higher. Gasoline Engine For Sale. For sale, 4| H. P.
