THURSDAY, AUGUST IS, 1921. STATHAM Dr. S. A. Boland motored to Greens boro Monday on bnsiness. Miss Lucille Daniel of Winder is the guest of Miss Louise Daniel this week. Mis* Mary Lowe of Good Hope is spending this week here us the guest of her sister. Mrs. O. M. Hale. Miss Nelia Robertson and little Beth Malcomb spent Sunday with her sister, Mrs. Cora Fincher at her home near Hebron. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Ross had as their dinner guests Monday, Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Darby, and Miss Elllt Darby from Vidalio. Mrs. Bert Doster has as her guests this week her sister and niece, Miss Clara V. Hill and Sunie Mae Hodges of Winder. Mrs. Pike Hutchens returned Sat urday from a two weeks’ visit in the mountains ami Atlanta. Mrs. N. T. Lancaster and two little daughters, Thelma and Willie Mae, will lie gone on a two weeks’ visit with the former’s sister, Mrs. J. A. Adams, of Buford, and her daughter, Mrs. Ern est Ethridge of Atlanta. Mr. N. T. ILancaster is over near Commerce helping in a series of meet ings. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Lowe of Winder spent Monday with Mrs. Harriet Lowe. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Lowe of Watkins ville was the week-end guest of rela tives here. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Wright of East vllle were the week-end gm-sts of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Nash. Mrs. T. L. Holcomb entertained as her guest last week Mrs. Dora Tucker, Miss Susie Tucker and Mr. Richard Tucker of Sparta, Mr. und Mrs. King Tucker, of Hwalnshoro, Mr. Willie Tucker from St. Simonds Island. Miss Notine Holcomb is spending several days at Swainsboro and Sparta with her uncle, King Tucker, and her grandmother, Mrs. M. J. Tucker. The Womans Missionary Society of the Christian church held its regular meeting at the Christian church Mon day afternoon. They invited the mem bers of the Methodist and Baptist societies to be with them. Quite a large attendance present whiith show ed the interest the ladies have in this great work. Mrs. W. M. Stinchcomb is the president of the society and shh in her earnest and prayerful way *s very helpful in this work. Each and every member co-operates which makes it very interesting. Another beautnul feature is the young people and Junior tire there with their ever ready way to help when called on. There were pres ent about 45 and several members ah sent. Beautiful Baptismal Ceremonies. A most beautiful and impressive ceremony was the baptizing of Doro thy Beal,’ little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carter W. Daniel, and Hulme, little son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Hulme Kinnebrew, at the home of their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Strange on Sunday afternoon, August 14th. The ordinane was administered by Rev. L. Wilkie Collins, pastor of First Metfiodist church of Winder, in pres ence of relatives and close friends of the families. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. McCurry were named as God parents of Dorothy Beal, Miss Ida Shelnot as God mother of Hulme. Garage Removal Notice. A. M.
