STOCK COURT JOKE PULLED BY NEGRO This week in the Harrow Superior Court a stock court joke was localized by, a negro. Judge Fortson himself had tt* join in the strains of laughter. A negro was on trial. Judge Fortson asked him the usual questions: ‘Have you a lawyer?” No, sir." “Are you able to pay one?" “No, sir.' “Do you want one?" “Yes, sir.” Judge Fortson turned to Cols. Julian Boss and T. Elton Drake and asked these bright young lawyers to take the case. Though among the brightest young men ever admitted to the bar, they are youthful looking. The negro looked them over and with mouth wide open said: “Jedge. if you please, I plead guilty.” Then the court was con vulsed with laughter and it took all the dignity of Judge Fortson to get back to normal. Cols. Ross and Drake great ly enjoyed the joke.
