Ga. 2t 26 BARROW COUNTY Barrow county is hut six years old. She was formed by a rib taken from the side of each Jackson, Gwinnett and Walton counties. Neither of these slept while the ojirrul ion was being per formed. She rame into existence full grown in dimensions, containing BIN si|Uarc miles of fertile (ibis and fine .forests. Her climate is healthful, her population is hale, hearty, honest and hospitable, being of that sturdy class that has long made North Georgia fa mous. Her factories and her furnaces, her Climate, her soil, her forests, and her banks ami her rail roads are only the by products of her wealth. Her chief wealth consists in her boys and girls, and Barrow's chief interest is centered in tier school-houses and her churches. Three thousand live hundred hoys and girls are taught in our public schools, saving nothing of a huge number at tending liigli schools. All are being taught by competent and efficient teach ers. Notwithstanding the financial depres- ! ,sion that prevails till over the county, the efforts that were put forth to make Barrow county fair a success have been amply rewarded. All who have itccri attending the fairs of this county are unanimous in their opinion the one just closed was the best in the history of the county. It has been fully demonstrated that no county in Georgia is capable of pro ducing a greater variety of agricultur al products, neither can any county produce better specimens. Our fair managers are to lie com mended for liiieral and unselfish manner in which they conducted the fair. The profits derived were turned back to the people in prizes. The schools that put on these exhibits have received substantial profits. This is one of the means by which Burrow county, al though a baby in age. is growing in public favor by leaps and bounds. I wish to compliment every school that pul on an exhibit. They all did tlieiijfselves great liono'r, I 'wish to commend our county agent. Mr. A. I>. Robertson for the splendid service ren dered in getting u]i these exhibits. ‘Prog ess” our motto as the years go by. J. B. BROOKSHIRE. Bounty School Superintendent. FARM FOR SALE. | Ml! I'.. 1 '..
