SCHOOL NEWS
The pupils of the first grade have
completed their little Red Riding Sand
table.
The second and third grades have
finished their Pilgrim sand table and
are very busy making their Thanksgiv
ing problems and decorations.
Appropriate Armistice Day exercis
es were held in the chapel Friday
morning. After the singing of some
patriotic songs ly the school, Rev .< .
W. Henderson gave a very interesting
and inspiring patriotic address. This
was followed by some original and very
interesting compositions on Armistice
Day were read by tin* tenth grade girls.
At the conclusion of the program the
school children joined in singing Keep
the Home Fires Burning.
The girls of the sewing class enter
tained their mothers and the teachers
at a sewing party Friday afternoon tit
the school building.
The room in which the* guests assem
bled was attractively decorated with
ferns and a profusion of white chry
santhemums. Another feature of the
decorations was an exhibit of sewing
bags, made by the girls, which was ar
ranged on a library table, made by the
boys of the Manual Training class. Af
ter examining this exhibit the gucst
ohserved the usual sewing lesson pre
sented h.v Mrs. Hutchins. After an
hour of sewing a delicious salad course
was served. The interest and co-op
erative spirit shown by the mothers
and friends will prove a source of in
spiration to the girls who compost*
this Domestic Art Class.
I wish to add as Statham correspon

faculty that believes in doing tilings.
From Prof. Williams down to t lie first

How Not to Take Cold
Some persons are subject to frequent
colds, while others seldom, if ever, have
a cold. You will find that the latter
take good care of themselves. They
take a shower or cold sponge hath ev
ery day in a warm room, avoid over
heated rooms, sleep with window open
or partly open, avoid excesses, over
eating, becoming over heated and then
chilled and getting the feet wet. Then,
when they feel the first indication of a
cold, they take Chamberlain’s Cough
Remedy without delay and it is sooh
over.
