Misses Nancy Lynch and Annie Mil ler of Bethel community were quests of Miss Vallie l’aur Sunday. Uev. W. 11. McDonald of Ma.vsville filled his tlrst apointmcnt for the New year Sunday and Sunday night. Mr. Joe Vanderford has purchas ed the home on the west side of the church and school house from Mr. li. M. Rutledge and has moved there. It is interesting to know that the Northeast (ieorgta district convention of the Christian churches held with the Watkinsvllie church last year will meet with tlte church here in October this year. The district co-operation meeting lias been held here once Ih>- fore and our people are planning to sustnln their former state-wide repu tation for hospitality in taking care of this convention. Mr. J. L. Hill and children of Win der were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Queen Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Obie Morris have mov ed from Booth’s district, Walton coun ' ty, to this community. We are glad to have them. Several from this section attended a singing at Corinth Sunday afternoon. The Odd Fellows held their first meeting for this year Saturday night. •Officers were elected as follows: Cleve Oreeson, X. O.: W. H. McDaniel, V. (.: Calvin Edwards, conductor; (1. W. Ed wards, secretary; ltev. J. C. Harbin, chaplain and Fred J. Fuller, warden. They closed their work for the old year with an enjoyable oyster supper. Chapman, w ho departed this life on December 115. Her remains were laid away in Union church yard about four miles from Winder. She was afflicted about two years and bore her sutlerings without complaining. She was taken worse Saturday morning and the end came Sunday evening at 7 ;IM> o'clock. She was tit years of age at the time of her death. When 1!> years old she was married to Mr. J. B. Chapman and to them were horn nine children, five girls and four boys, all of whom sur vive her. Some day we’ll see our mother's face. Shine white ns Alpine snows, Some day we’ll see that precious face, Iu a land where there’s no woe. We gently folded her cold white hands Across her quiet breast, We placed rare flowers on her tomb. And laid her down to rest. The cruel recollections came. Of the cruel, troubled past, Her weary life is over now, She is at peace at lust.
