Quite a happy occasion of last week was the sewing party on Thursday af ternoon given by Mrs. Edgar DeLa- Perriere to the Junior Priscilla Sew ing club. After the sewing hour the guest* were invited into the dining room where delicious refreshments, consisting of fried chicken, hot biscuits, stuffed eggs, pickles, and hot coffee were served. Those present were Mesdames Rob ert Arnold, W. N. Bailey, George Fort son, E. It. Harris, Howard Perry, Paul Roberts, Herschel Smith, ,T. B. Parham, Preston Williams, Clyde Williamson. Lester Moore, W. H. Jennings and H. H. Segars. Fox—Well. On last Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the afternoon, at the resi dence of Mr. J. It. Johnson occurred the marriage of Miss Callie Belle Fox and Mr. Wayman Wall, Judge A. I. Lyle officiating. Both are splendid young people of this county, and have hosts of friends who are congratulat ing them upon this happy event in their lives. They will make their home out on Route live. Mrs. Guy Prickett has been quite sick this week. * * * Mrs. Joe Estes and baby are spending a few weeks in Birmingham. * * Dr. and Mrs. R. H. Barnes and son, spent the past week-end with relatives in Athens. * * * Mrs. Elmer McKinney of Monroe, N. is tile guest of her mother, Mrs. J. J. Wilson. * * Mr. O. M. Jackson made a business trip to Monroe, N. the first of the week. * * Mrs. G. W. Ethridge, of Atlanta, spent Sunday here with her daughter, Mrs. J. N. Summerour. Mrs. M. L. Wages, from Emory, Ga in spending this we >k with her sister, Mrs. F. Hofmeister. * * Mrs. Paul Williams of Athens was the guest of relatives here the first of the week. • * • Miss Clavis Paul of Carlton is ex pected to spend the week end with Miss Jewelie Sorrow. * * * Mrs. Mary Sorrow' is out again after two weeks illness with an attack of la grippe, we are glad to state. * • * Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ween have mov ed into an apartment at the home of Mrs. Maude Bondurant. * * * Mr. Hillman Jackson, one of the best gardeners in Barrow county or any oth er county, says that this is a fine time to plajnt vegetables. Gobd idea to plant a roasting ear patch this week if the ground is dry enough. * * • Mrs. Robert Camp and Mrs. J. J. Wil son went to Atlanta on Wednesday and are the guests of Mrs. Walter Cooper. While there they will be the recipients of several delightful and attractive so cial affairs. They will he joined on Sunday by Mr. Camp and Mr. Wilson and will return to Winder Sunday ev ening. * • * Mrs. G. M. Sims is reported doing very well at Wesley Memorial hospital where she has undergone two very se rious operations; we hope She will soon be well again. Her little son is reported doing fine at the Scottish Rite hospital in Decatur, Ga. We sincere ly hope both mother and son will soon return to their home in this city well and strong. The sympathy of a large circle of friends are extended to the husband, and trust that he will soon have his loved ones restored to him. Did You Know? Steadman of Berkley was in Winder one day last week to see his sister, Mrs. Sorrow, who was quite ill. * * * Dr. and Mrs. G. W. DeLaPerriere are expected home Friday after spend ing two months at several interesting cities in,Florida. * * * Mr. T. A. Maynard and son, Roy, and Mrs. W IC Mathews are expected home the latter part of the week after a delightful stay of three weeks in Florida * * * Mrs. E. V. Snipes of Atlanta is ex pected in Winder next Sunday and will spend several days as the guest of Mrs. Robert Camp, Mrs. Parks Stewart and Miss Ora Lee Camp.
