EASTER BIRTHDAY PARTY.
Olivia Kesler, lovely young daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. L. .H Kesler, of Jack
son county, had the pleasure of cele
brating her ninth birthday Easter Sun
day. Her parents delightfully entertain
ed in her honor at their country home
seven miles from Winder, on Saturday
afternoon from three to five o’clock.
After a very exciting hunt for the gai
ly colored eggs, the guests were invit
ed into the dining-room, where the
appointed )table, lace-covered,
liad in the center a crystal vase of pink
roses, bordered with colored eggs, and
the birthday cake with nine candles
lighted, cast a soft glow over the beau
tiful setting of the bright faced boys
and girls around the room.
Delicious home-made cake and lemon
ate were served to the guests.
Miss Kesler is the grand daughter of
Mr. J. B. Hancock, of Jackson county,
and neice of Miss Ada Hancock, Mrs.
Bob Imrd and Mr. David Kesler of
Winder. Olivia is one of the brightest
pupils in the Winder public schools.
The invited guests included, Gladys
Hardigree, Emma Ola Perry, Sara
Frances Royal, Inez Summerour, Clara
and Mary Lou Tomlin, Hazel Church,

ENTERTAIN.
One of the brightest and most enjoy
able social events of the gar spring
season was the party last Thursday af
ternoon at which Mrs. R. L. Rogers and
Mrs. W. L. Bush entertained at the
home of tbp form°r. The rooms
thrown together in which th" guests
assembled were radiant with many
soring flowers and ferns. Large French
baskets filled with roses and boner
suckle were placed on nedestals at in
ternals. the color motif of nink and
gre"n was delightfully carried out.
Bridge. “500” and heart-dice were
the games for the afternoon. As the
guests arrired they were served punch
by Afiss Mary Hares and Miss Ger
trude Rogers. Late in the afternoon a
love]y frozen course was served. The

EASTER EGG HI NT.
Mrs. G. S. Gunter and Mrs. Austin
White of Buford, gave an egg hunt Sat
urday afternoon in honor of their lit
tle nephew, Jack Yearwood, of Winder,
Ga.*
About forty children and several
mothers were present. All had a nice
time and are looking forward for next
Easter.
Satterfleld-Camp.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Satterfield of
Gainesville, Ga., announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Sarah la>u,
to John Dwight Gamp, of Rome. Ga.,
the marriage to take place June 7th,
at the home of the brbide’S parents. No
cards.

Saturday afternoon Miss Flossie Hen
son entertained in honor of Shelley
Rose Higgins, a member of her Sun
day school class, who is soon to move
away to the regret of all her friends.
The guests assembled on the spa
cious porch and enjoyed various Eas
ter games.
There were twenty-three little tots
who enjoyed Miss Henson’s hospitality.
After the games they were served an
ice course and each guest was present
ed with favors of dainty baskets filled
with Easter eggs.
Miss Mabel Jackson assisted in en
tertaining.

week to Decatur. Ala., after spend
ing several days hero with her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. IV. G. Elder.

ENTERTAIN IN HONOR OF

A delightful event featured on this
week's social calendar was the party
on Wednesday evening given by Mr.
and Mrs. H. A. Carithers in honor of
* apt. and Mrs. W. H. Quarterman.
The rooms thrown together were
beautifully decorated, pink and white
roses were used in the living-room, and
red and white snap-dragons were used
in tlie dining-room. On each table were
bonbon dishes filled with snlted nuts.
During the evening punch was served
and after several interesting games of
bridge au ice course was enjoyed. The
guests included Capt. and Mrs. Quar
terman. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rogers.

WOMAN’S CLUB MEETING.
One of the most delightful and in
teresting meetings the Woman's club
has ever had was that of last (Wednes
day afternoon when the executive com
mittee entertained the members
hers at the home of Mrs. G. S. Mill
saps. After a brief business session
the following program was rendered and
much enjoyed.

Of special interest was the talk by
Mrs. Quarterman who has been in
France the past four years.

Quite a large number was present
and much enthusiasm was manifest
ed by the members.

Mrs. C. B. Almond was the charming
hostess to the Entre Nous dub last
Thursday afternoon.
The rooms where the guests snfre en

served.

PETITION FOR CHARTER.
GEORGIA—Barrow county.
To the Superior Court of said county.
The petition of L. L. Moore, Hubert
E. M. Moore and J. R. Perry, all of suid
State and County, respectfully shows:
1.
That they desire for themselves, their
associates and successors, to he incor
porated and made a body politic under
the name and style of L. L. MOORE
MANUFACTURING COMPANY for
the period of twenty years.

The principal office of said company
shall be in Winder, State and county
aforesaid, but petitioners desire the
right to establish branch offices within
this state or elsewhere, whenever the
holders of a majority of the stock may
so determine.
3.
The object of said corporation is
pecuniary gain to itself and its share
holders.
4.
The business to be carried on by the
said corporation is the manufacture,
distribution and sale of farming im
plements, tools, machinery and appli
ances in the form of a machine general
ly called MOOORE’S BOLL WEEVIL
MACHINE, invented for the purpose
of combatting the boll weevil.
5.
The capital stock of said corpora
tion shall he Five Thousand ($5,000.00)
Dollars, with the privilege of increasing
same to the sum of Fifty Thousand
($50,000.00) Dollars by a majority vote
of the stockholders, said stock to be
divided into shares of One Hundred
(100.00) Dollars each. Ten per cent of
the amount of capital to he employed
bv them has been actually paid in.

Petitioners desire the right to have
the subscriptions to said capital stock
paid in money or property to be taken
at a fair valuation.

Petitioners desire the right to sue
and be sued, to plead and be impleaded,
to have and use a common seal, to make
all necessary by-laws and regulations,
and to do all other things that may he
necessary for the successful carrying
on of said business, ineluding the right
to make contracts, to buy, hold and sell
real estate and personal property suit
able to the purposes of the corporation,
and to execute notes and bonds as ev
idence of indebtedness incurred or
which mnv lie incurred in the conduct
of the affairs of the business.
They desire for said incorporation
the power and authority to apply for
and accept amendments to its charter
by a vote of a maiority of its stock out
standing. They also ask authority for

aid incorporation to wind up its affairs,
liquidate and discontinue Its business
at any time it may determine to do so
by a vote of two-thirds of its stock out
standing.
9.
They desire for said incorporation
such other rights, powers, privileges
and immunities as are incident to like
incorporation or permissible under the
laws of Georgia.
Wherefore, petitioners pray to lie in
corporated under the name and style
aforesaid with the powers, privileges
and immunities herein set forth, and
as are now. or may hereafter lie. al
lowed a corporation of similar charac
ter under the laws of Georgia.
