Commencement Exercises
Commencement exercises of Statham
High school closed Monday evening
with the greaest success of its history.
On Thursday evening the grammar
school had the most beautiful and best
trained children they have eve? had.
on Friday evening the senior play was
put on which showed from start to fin
ish how interested the teachers were in
their pupils in making it one of the
best plays we have had. All home
talent.
On Sunday morning Rev. J. (i. Parish of
Auburn Christian college. Impressed
each and every one in the great ser
mon he delivered for the benefit of the
graduating class On Monday evening
the closing exercises was both beauti
ful and impressive. As each graduate
read their essays and left their part
ing word to their class friends there
was a gladness and a sadness in each,
and then came a great speech and ad
vice from Judge George Johns of Min
der, which in every word spoken was
u great meaning to those graduates.
Our school year for 1921-22 has been
one of the best if not the best in its
history. The faculty worked together
for the best interests of the school and
its future. There were six graduates
receiving a diploma for their efforts
delivered by Prof. J. \V. Williams. The
graduates are:
Ned Arnold. Mass E. Chambers, Av
ery Bedingfleld, Jewell Hardy, Zethel
Harris, Sadie Sims.
Our school rally day will be held on
Saturday, May 27, to discuss the move
ment toward consolidation of schools
jn this section of the county. Every
one is cordially invited to attend.
