YEAR 1922.

Court of Ordinary sitting for Coun
ty purposes, September sth, 1922,
By C. W. Barker, Ordinary of said
county, sitting for County purposes, it
is hereby ordered that one and 50-100,
'(51.50) dollars on the One Hundred
dollars ($100.00) of the taxable prop
erty of said county as per digest of
1922, be, and the same is hereby levied
ami that the same be collected by the
Tax Collector, for the following pur
poses, to-wit:
Ist. Eighty-five cents (85) on the
Hundred Dollars to pny the Legal in
debtedness due, or to become due dur
ing the year 1922, or past due.
2nd. Nineteen cents (19c) on the
hundred dollars to repair jail or court
house, bridges or ferries, public roads,
or any other public building improve-
ments according to contract.
3rd. Four and four-fifths (4 4-5)
on tlie hundred dollars to pay Sheriff,
Jailers, or other officers’ fees, that they
may be legally entitled to out of the
county.
4th. One-fifth of one cent on the
hundred dollars to pay Coroner’s fees
that may be due them by the county
for holding inquests.
sth. Five cents on the hundred dol
lars to pay- expenses of the county for
bailiffs at Court, non-resident witness
es in criminal cases, fuel, servant hire,
stationery and the like.
oth. Five cents on the hundred dol
lars to pay jurors a per diem compen
sation.
7th. One cent on the hundred dol
lars to pay expenses incurred in sup
porting the poor of the county, and as
otherwise prescribed by law.
Bth. Twenty-eight cents on the hun
dred dollars to pny the interest if the
public debt falling due the present year
■and to provide a sinking fund for fur
ther installments for the bonded debts
of said county.
9th. Two cents on the hundred dol
lars to pay Vital Statistic Local Regis
trars, for reporting births and deaths of
the county, and to pay water and light
expenses.
(a) It is further ordered that, in
addition to the above named tax levy
that a special tax levy be made In
compliance with an order made by the
county Board of Education, and it is
hereby ordered that Thirty-five cuts
on the one hundred dollars of the tax
able property of said county as per di
gest of 1922, exclusive of the City of
Winder, (la., for educational purposes
for said Harrow county.
Making in the aggregate the aim of
One and 50-100 Dollars on the SIOO on
all the taxable property of said county
for county purposes, and One atul 85-
100 Dollars ($1.85 on the ($100) for
county and school purposes on the tax
able property of said county, except
that within limits of the City of Win
der, Ga.

tion for leave to sell four shares of
stock in Bethlehem Union Gin and
Warehouse Cos. of said J. Harvie Aus
tin, deceased, and that an order was
made thereon at the October term, 1922,
for citation, and that citation issue;
all the heirs at law and creditors of
the said J. Harvie Austin, deceased,
will take notice that I will pass upon
said application at the November

By virtue of an order of the Court of
Ordinary of Barrow county granted
upon the application of Mrs. Lou E.
Langford, as the administratrix of the
estate of B. C. Langford, deceased, for
the purpose of paying debts and distri
bution, there will he sold before the
court house door at public outcry to
the highest bidder, in the City of Win
der, between the legal hours of sale, on
the first Tuesday in November, 1922, as
the property of the said deceased, the
following described lands, to-wit:
1. That house and lot described in
deed from J. W. Cody to B. C. Lang
ford dated January 4, 1919, recorded
in the office of the Clerk of Barrow Su
perior Court in Book B, Page 355, on
January 13, 1919, described ns all that
tract or parcel of land, situated, lying
and being in the Town of Statlmm,
Barrow county, Georgia, beginning at
the corner of Fourth and Broad street
thence along said Broad street s(> E.
one hundred fifty feet (150) to line of
H. W. Grizzle; thence along line of
said Grizzle southwest (200) two hun
dred feet to an alley; thence along said
alley one hundred and fifty (150) feet
to Fourth street; thence along Fourth
street two hundred (200) feet to the be
ginning corner on Broad street, being
150 feet fronting on Broad street and
2(H) running back south-west to alley.
This being the lot as deeded from N. W.
Parker to Mrs. N. A. Cody February
21st, 1905, and recorded in Jackson Su
perior Court, February 28th, 1905, in
Book HH, page 228, and also one-half
of the lot deeded to J. W. Cody by O.
W. Lanier, February 20th, 1905, and re
corded in Jackson Superior Court on

227, the other half of said lot being

by alley, and known as the F. M.
Williams house and lot, said lot being
one hundred (100) by two hundred
(200) feet.

EXECUTOR’S SALE.
By virtue of an order from the court
of Ordinary of Jackson county, provid
ing for sale in Winder, will be sold at
public outcry on the first Tuesday in
November, 1922, at the Court House
door In Winder, Barrow county, Ga.,
between the legal hours of sale, the
following described property, to-wit;
A certain Lot and parcel of land,
situated, lying and being in the coun
ty of Barrow% In the city of Winder,
situated on the east side of Center
street; fronting Center street 153 feet
and running back 150 feet deep with
practically the same width at the rear
as the front; bounded on the north by
lot of Clyde Williamson, on the east by
lots of Craft and Eavenson, on the
South by lot of W. J. Jones, Jr. and
on the west by Center street.
Known as the home place of the
late Thomas M. Foster, deceased.
On said lot there is a well built
6-room dwelling, fully equipped with
water, bath and electric lights, and,
other improvements. In one of the
best residence sections of Winder.
Sold for the purpose of settling with

legal hours of sale, the crops of J. E.
Smith on that farm in Auburn dis
trict, said county, known as the ,T. E.
Smith farm containing 148 acres, more
or less, said crops being described as
8 to 10 acres of cotton and about 15
acres of corn, both ungathered in field
on said place, estimated to make half
to three fourths if hale of cotton and
about 100 bushels corn, being all of
crops on said place except crops
claimed by W. C. Smith and M. T. Nor
ris.
Said property levied upon as the
property of J. E. Smith to satisfy an
execution issued', from the Superior
Court of Barrow county in favor of
Montpelier Savings Bank and Trust
Company against said J. E. Smith.

chs. to a red oak stump now rock) ;

oak; thence N. 12 E. 27.50 chs to a
rock corner on Mulberry river; thence
along the meanderlngs of sail river
to the beginning corner, said land
bounded on the north by Mulberry riv
er, east by lands of Wess Wheeler,
south by lands of Pentecost, west by
lands formerly Mrs. Shafford Puck
ett, (now Pirkle) containing one hun
dred twelve and % (112 3-4) acres,
more or less.”
Baid property levied on as the prop
erty of W. H. Brewer to satisfy an ex
ecution issued from the Superior
Court of Barrow county in favor of
W. A. Hill and against W. H. Brewer,
said property being in possesion of W.
H. Brewer.
Written notice given to defendant
and tenant in possession as required
by law.
Property pointed out in quit claim
deed reconveying the said property to
W. H. Brewer for purpose of levy and
sale.

Will lie sold before the Court House
door in the City of Winder, said State,
and county, at public outcry, between
the legal hours of sale ou the First
Tuesday to November, 1922, to the
highest and best bidder for cash, the
following described property to-wit:
“All that tract or parcel of land,
situate, lying and being in Barrow
county, Georgia, but formerly in Gwin
nett county, Georgia, and bounded as
follow)?: North by lands of T. C.
Flanigan; east by lands of E. V. Pool,
south by lands of John Clack and Lovic
Pharr; west by lands of J. W. Clack,
being the farm whereon said J. E.
Smith now resides, and is located about
two and one-half miles north of Auburn
Ga., This tract of land contains one
hundred and forty-eight (148) acres
more or less.”
The above land was conveyed by J.
E. Smith to The Georgia Loan & Trust
Company, a corporation of Macon,
Georgia, to secure the debt on which
this judgment and fl fa is based and a
quit-claim deed has been made by the
Montpelier Savings Bank & Trust Cos.
to J. E. Smith and filed and recorded
in the Clerk’s office of said county as
provided by law. lVritten notice has
been given to defendant, J. E. Smith,
as provided by law. The foregoing
land is levied on under a fi. fa. issued
from Barrow Superior Court, State of
Georgia, at the September Term, 1922,
in favor of Montpelier Savings Bank
& Trust Company against J. E. Smith
for the sum of $4,000.00 principal,
$495.44 interest up until Sept. 25th,
\1922, and also the sum of $449,50 for
‘jattomey’s fee, and for the further
sum ofs for court costs, with
interest on said several sums from
Sept. 25tb, 1922, at 8 per cent per an
num from the 25th day of September,
1922.
