The Mission Study class will meet
at the home of Mrs. W. B. McCants
next Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.
“The Trend of the Races,” a new'
home mission study hook w ill be used.
Those taking part on the program are

This completes the requirements of
the study department of the society.

DEATH OF MR.
D. A. ANTHONY
Mr. D. A. Anthony, a w<*il know*
citizen of this city, died at his home
here last Saturday morning. iJr. Anl
tliony was 70 years of age at the timet
of his death. He was a member of tha*
Christian church and had been a real
ident of this city for several year*
coming here from Winterville, Ga.
The interment was made at Winter-]
ville, his old home. .Mrs. Anthony, his]
wife died last May being buried on'
Mothers’ Day. while Mr. Anthony was]
buried last Sunday, on Fathers' Day.
Four sons and one daughter survive
him. Lamar and Mark Anthony, of At
lanta : Durham Anthony, of Anniston,
Ala.; Foster Anthony, of Winterville;
and Mrs. Custer Ross, of this city.
The sympathy of their many friends
are extended to them in their sorrow.

I
Poach county lost out in the flection
on November 7th by a majority of 6,-
084 votes. The amendment creating a
new senatorial district lost out toy 1,-
594 votes. The people of the state were
in no humor in this election to create
new counties or new senatorial districts
