ENTERTAINS.
An enjoyable affair last Saturday
was the six o’clock dinner at which
Miss Mabel Jackson was hostess, hon
oring the boarding school teachers of
the public school.
In the dining-room ferns and cut
flowt rs were used as decorations. A
lovely course dinner was served. Cov
ers were laid for Misses Womack, Ca
denhead. Donaldson, Blanks. Haygood,
Rowland, and Jackson and Mrs. Wynn.

Mr. O. W. Reynolds and Miss Neva
da Harrison were happily married last
Sunday by Judge W. H. Greeson of
Pentecost district. The many friends

happiness in life.

Miss Rosa Roberts, of Winder, and
Mr. J. Guy Ouzts of Elberton, former
ly of Winder, were happily married on
December 28, at Auburn, Ga., Rev.
Sam Higgins, officiating. They are
both vary popular here and in Winder.
The ceremony as witnessed by a few
friends who wish them much happiness

Miss Mary Marlow of Hoschton and
Mr. Hardy Sanders of Winder were
happily united in marriage Sunday De
cember 24th, Rev. ,T. F. Green officia

JACKSON IIATCHER.
. Of cordial interest is the announce
ment of the marriage of Miss Frances
Hatcher of Harlem and Mr. Clarence
Jackson of Manchester which was quiet
ly solemnized at seven o'clock Tuesday
r evening at the home of Rev. L. J. Bick
ers. of Auburn. Ga.. in the presence of
a few intimate friends. Rev. Bickers
performed the ceremony.
The bride was lovely in white can
tos* crepe, her only ornament a string
of pearls. The bride is the youngest
daughter of Mrs. Georgia Hatcher and
the late W. C. Hatcher, and by her
beauty and accomplishments, she being
being a very gifted young reader, hav
ing won first honors several times, and
personal charm has won many friends
not only at her home but at Aubui n,
when she has been in College, and
throughout the state.
Mr. Jackson is the son of Dr. .T. L.
Jackson, of Manchester, a prominent
physician. Mr. Jackson is a man of ster
ling qualities. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson

for an extensive automobile tour thru
the country.
WOMAN’S MISSIONARY SOCIETY.
The Woman’s Missionary Society of
the First Baptist church will meet for
a whole day’s session on next Wednes
day. January IT. in the parlors of the
church. It is earnestly desired that as
many as possible attend. The follow

Crawford accredited high school open
ed Monday morning with a number of
new pupils in evrey grade and the best
prospect that a school could* have of
having the best term in its history. As
we have the best teachers in the conn
ty. or it would lie hard to find better
ones in the sfate. The trustees found
it would Do necessary to add another
teacher to take care of the new pupils
that had already entered since school
began in September. Miss M irgaret Mc-
Whorter. of Winder, was added to the
faculty and she lias something like for
ty pupils in her room. We will have
to install more desks to take care of
ttie new pupils that have entered school
since the beginning of the fall term. —

Prof. G. J. Parrish, who was connect
ed for several years with the South
eastern Christian college, Auburn. Ga.,
has accepted the pastorate of the Chris
tian church at Cullman. Ala., and has
moved to that place. Ilis many friends

MRS. NANCY GREESON.
Mrs. Nancy Greeson, one of the old
est citizens of this section, died at the
home of her son, Mr. W. L. Greeson,
Wednesday night. She will lie buried
today at the Manders burial ground.
Mrs. Greeson was about 83 years old
and had been a widow since the civil
war. She leaves an only son. Mr. W.
L. Greeson. with whom site lived and
to whom a large circle of friends ex
tends sympathy.

week-end at her home in Jefferson.
