Her deeds shall Is* an example, an influence and an inspiration forall her surviving family and friends thru the coming years of their life on earth. Edna’s life here, in all its relationship, was spent in deeds of daily conduct in an exceptional and impressive witness of the fact that “her life was hidden with Christ in God.” Her final and fatal sickness of the body was comparatively of • hut few day**. Though already in the merciless grip of the dread influenza and pneu monia, yet that rare and indomitable spirit of her Holy Master with which her pure heart was unceasingly filled wreathed her sweet angelic face with unfading smiles, clothed her clean tongue with words of Christ-like ten derness and helpful cheerfulness its she served in the multitude duties of her home, and also from house # to house whores at that time many others were suffering of the same dread disease as that which already had fixed its fatal hold within that beautiful clay temple in which she so nobly and helpfully liv ed. “I cannot understand why I cannot get better and get well but some time I shall understand,” she oft repeated while she suffered. “Listen, don’t you hear that music, the sweetest music I ever heard,” ’she called to her nurses, hut none on earth at that time could hear the music which Edna heard. Her Lord, ordered iiis angels to open the door of heaven’s great music hall that his suf fering child, Edna, in that- humble 'earthly home should hear and lie Strengthened and cheered in that dark ening and chilly gloom. The tongues of the angels of heaven, or that of the cultured brain of phil osopher or poet, nor the powers of the most eloquent and inspiring orators of all ages of the earth; all fail utterly to adequately describe the matchless glory, the fulness and the completeness of the life and inexhaustible* riches with which Edna has now fully entered. No home on earth was ever honored with a more capable builder and keep er. No husband will ever lx- blest with a companionship and loving devo tion of a faithful wife above that of Edna. No child will ever need a more exemplary and intelligent and loving mother than was she. No patents need desire or hope to have a more, consid erate and gratefully obedient daughter. No brothers amt sisters in family cir cle need he more nobly respected and honored than the family in which she grew up to noble womanhood. No church and community will ever need a more capable servjant. In the sick room, in the homes of the needful poor, in the funeral chairs, with her sweet, heavenly voice, in healing and comforting songs as she touched ten derly the musical keys of the instu ment which she could co capably han dle. Well and sincerely can we now say of Edna, “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, from henceforth, yea, saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labors, for their works follow with them.” Rev. 14:13. Edna Lee McElroy was born April 20, 1889. She died December 24, 1922, at he age of 3.3 years, 8 months and 4 day s She was the daughter of E. V. & Lula Hardigree. She was the wife of Mul ler McElroy, with whom she united in June 28, 1908. Two children were born of this union, their first born preceded its mother to the heavenly home. Edna united her life with the Lord Jesus Christ at Chapel Christian church in August, 1905, during a series of meetings under the ministry of the la mented and beloved Thomas M. Foster. She is survived by her husband and daughter, Dorris, now eight years old, her father and mother and three broth ers. “Fear no more the heat of the sun, Nor the furious winter’s rages, Thou thy task on earth hath done, ' Home thou art gone and taken thy wa ges. Mortal flesh, young or old, all must As that of the little sparrow, come to dust. v Our beloved, immortal lights, Rise surely'up into the sky, To shine there everlastingly, Like stars over the bounding, hill. Heaven is aglow with life and light.” L. A. WINN. B. E. PATRICK Watches and Jewelry Fine Watch Repairing. WINDER, GA.
