I have endeavored to give the news of

Death of One of Win
der’s Best Citizens.
Mr. John T. Sharpton died at his
homo on Wright Street ori Friday morn
Ling, March ,‘lrd. at 1 :B0 o’clock He had
j.bepn in declining health for some time.
When it was pronounced by physic-inns
that he had tuberculosis he went to tin
state Sanitorium for treatment as ear
ly as possible, January 12, last, where
h*i stayed only four weeks. Physicians
tin-re seeing they could do him no good
advised that in* be brought home. He
returned Feltrunry oth, and was never
aide to be up and out again. He lift
the assurance that everything in mans
power was done for his welfare. Ho
said repeatedly that it was God s will
(lint he had to go and that lie was
ready. That should he, a comfort to
the bereaved family, knowing that he
was ready.
His death brought much sadness to
the loved ones in his home, even though
his illness was of long duration.
Besides n host of friends and rela
tives he left a wife and two children.

Mary Louise, throe His father, M. M.
Sharpton. two brothers. M. F. and O.
M., two sisters, Mrs. Lor HCrndon and
Mrs. Roy Pittman, all of Winder One
brother. L. O. Sharpton of Gainesville;
A. E. of Plant City, Fla. to mourn his
death.
He was .13 years of age, was horn and
reared near Winder in what is now
Barrow county.
He was not a man of wealth, but that
which counts most was a true Christian
and was loved by all who knew him.
He had been for a number of years a
member of the Winder ' Christian
church where the funeral service was
hefld on Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock,
conducted by Rev. E. L. Shelnutt of
this city.
lie was laid to rest in Rose Hill cem

It seems now that the farmers will
have to grind their axes and cut wood
instead of sharpening their plough
shares.
