SPARK S-HARRIS.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Guinn, of \V in<V*

ized in June.
This announcement from the Atlanta
Journal of last Sunday will la* of in
terest to many of our people, as the
bride-elect, Miss Frankie Sparks, is
well known and much loved here. She
has been a member of the faculty of
the Winder Public Schools for the past
two years, is active in religious and
social life.
LECTURE BY MISS ROWLAND.
A pleasant and instructive afternoon
was spent by the Young Matrons Fed
erated club last Thursday at the
school building in Miss Rowland’s class
room, where she gave a lecture to the
dub on salads and salad combinations,
giving demonstrations of many differ
ent salads and menus for different oc
easions and to carry out certain ideas.
The club enjoyed very much this op
portunity of studying the value of
foods aiid getting new ideas along tins
line. At tlx* close of the lecture Miss
Rowland served an attractive frozen
salad course with iced tea.
MILLSAPS RUSSELL
ENGAGEMENT OF INTEREST.
The announcement of the engage
ment of Miss Sybil Millsaps to Mr. Rob
ert L. Russell, is one of most cordial
interest to their many friends through
out the state.
Miss Millsaps is the only daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. <!. S. Millsaps, of Win
ler. anil possesses rare beauty and
charm. She is a graduate of the Geor
gia State College for Women and at
tended the summer session at Kmory
university. By her charming person
ality and sweet manner, she lias made
numerous friends throughout the state.
Mr. Russell attended school at Gor
don Institute and the University of
Georgia, and is a member of the S. A.
K. fraternity. He is the second son id
Chief Justice Richard R. Russell, of
the supreme court, and for the past
few years has been a popular young
attorney In Atlanta, and is now one
of the secretaries to the state supreme

Strange, who have just returned to
Winder from their honeymoon. The
occasion was thoroughly enjoyed by

jr.s birthdays, they celebrated them
together at the home of Mr. Smith on
\thens street. This was a happy day
for Mr. Smith. At the beautifully ap
pointed table in the dining room were
seated all of the children and grand
children of Mr. Smith. In the center
of the table was a large cake with sev
en!}-three candles. Master Robert
Smith, Jr., wished his grandfather
many happy birthdays in his own sweet
way and blew out the candles, each
candle representing seventy-three' years
of usefulness.
Mr. Smith is one of the leading and
inlluential citizens of Winder, where
he has lived for many years and has
reared 11 splendid family He has
many friends here and throughout the
state.
At a small table in the dining room
was a cake with eight candles repre
senting eight years for Master Claud
May lie. Jr. As he blew out his caudles
tie wished that he might celebrate his
twenty-first birthday together with his
great uncle at his home. Seated at
this table were Claud Mayne. Jr.. Rob
ert Smith, Jr., Mai Smith and Kliza

11. Jennings and H S. Woodruff, till of
the said county of Barrow, State of
Georgia.
First. That they desire for them
selvtls, their association and successors
to be incorporated and made a body
politic, having the name and style of
“Woodruff Cotton Duster Co..’ "for tlic
period of Twenty years.
Second. The principal office of said
Corporation shall be in the city of Win
der, Barrow county. Georgia, but peti
tioners desire the right to establish
branch offices in tin' said state of Geor
gia, or elsewhere should the stockhol
ders by majority vote so determine.
Third. The object of the* said cor
poration is pecuniary gain for its
stockholders.
Fourth. The Capital Stock of said
corporation shall be $10,000.00 with the
privilege of increasing same to SIOO,-
000.00, should the stockholders so desire
which said stock shall be divided into
shares of SIOO.OO par value each. Six
Thousand Dollars of said capital stock
has already been paid in. Petitioners
desire the rigid to accept in payment
at fair valuation. They also desire the
for stock, property, franchises, patents,
as well as money, same to lie taken at
right to issue preferred stock ns well
as common, in proportions to he fixed
by the action of the stockholders.
Fifth. The business to he carried on
by said corporation is that of manufac
turing and selling, by wholesale and
retail machines for dusting cotton, and
the parts for same, of any kind and
character, for the application of cal
cium arsenate or other poisons, either
by dusting or spraying.
Sixth. Petitioners desire the right
to sue and be sudd, to plead and he im
pleaded. to have and use a common
seal, to make all by-laws necessary for
their business, to elect all usual and
necessary officers and directors and
gcmtrally to do all things necessary
for the conduct of said business, in
cluding the right to buy. hold and sell
real estate and personal property, to
deal in merchandise of all sorts, to ex
ecute notes or bonds as evidence, of in
debtedness incurred or to be incurred
in the course of business of said cor
poration and to secure the same by
mortgage or siieurity deed as provided
by law
Seventh Petitioners desire for said
corporation the power and authority to
apply for and accept araenduents to
its charter by a majority vote of its
outstanding stock They also desire au
jthority to wind up the affairs of said
corporation, liquidate and discontinue
its business at any time, by action of
