Tribute of Respect
Whereas, on the 14-th day of
December, 1912, the Great Reap
er called from his earthly abode
our brother, M. 1). J. McDonald,
therefore, we submit this our me
morial.
The deceased was a true Odd
bellow and dearly loved his or
der and his lodge. When Win
der lodge was organized Mr.Mc-
Donald went in as a charter mem
her and remained with that lodge
until Beech Creek lodge was in
stituted near his old home. He
east his lot with Beech Creek
lodge, going in as a charter mem
ber was elected its first Noble
Brand and its first district dep
uty grand master. Here he re
mained as an ardent member for
ill unit twenty years.
About thirty years ago he mar
ried Miss Missouri Pentecost
daughter of the widow Ann Pen
tecost and a| sister of*Mr. U. N.
Pentecost. He was about r >7
years of age. Ilis widow and
three chifdren survive him.
In the death of our late broth
er, we feel that this lodge has 1 os'
a most valuable member, a wife a
loving husband, his children a
kind father and the community iri
which he lived a good citizen.
Therefore, be it resolved That
this memorial be spread upon the
minutes of this lodge, a copy be
furnished the family of the de
ceased and a copy be sent to The
Winder News for publication.

TION TO MEET.
Elberton Will be Host of
Noted Gathering Next
Month.
The program Committee for
tlie Annual State Convention of
the Georgia Sunday School As
sociation, which is to be held at
Elberton, April 22-24-24, has
planned a program on which
more than twenty-five of the lead
ing Sunday School workers from
various parts of the State arc to
take part.
Among the speakers are, Mr.
John J. Eagan, of Atlanta; Rev.
J. L. White, D. D. of Macon ;Mr.
M. Ij. Brittain, of Atlanta; Mr.
Frank L, Mallary. of Macon;
Rev. 11. M. Dußose, D. I). of At
lanta; Mr. 0. .A. Rowland, of
Athens; Mr. W. D. Upshaw, of
Atlanta. In all there ore more
than twenty-five speakers.
Tlie programme provides for
the opening- session to begin at
7 :30 P. M. April 22nd, and runs
through the 23rd and 24th,clos
ing at 9:30 on the night of the
24th. The speeches are to be on
various methods of Modern Sun
day School work.
Mr. W. M. Wilcox of Elberton,
is Chairman of the Committee on
the Arrangements for the Conven
lion, and the church people of
EJb rton are making elaborate
preparations for entertaining of
all who attend. They have fur
nished the offeie of the state
Sunday School Association, at At
hint.:, with letterheads printed in
two colors, on which are • the
pictures of eleven of the promi
nent speakers for the Convention.
They are also furnishing a poster
oiv which are the pictures of fif
teen of the speakers. The pos
ter is in two colors and is to be
mailed to the Sunday School Su
perintendents throughout the
State.
All white Sunday Schools are
reuested to elect at least three
delegates besides pastor and su
perintendent who are delegates
by virtue of their office All
who attend the Convention at
Elberton will become delegates by
paying ti registr.iticu fee of fifty
cents All who register \yi*i be
turnished homes by the Elberton
Committee.
The various railroads have
granted low round trip rates. The
State office reports that the in
dications from different parts of
the State are that the attendance
at this Convention will be unusu
ally large, all sections of the
State being Well represented.
