It seems that the fashionable

humorously" tells of hlow the babe
suffer from it thusly:
“Apropos of turkey-trotting,
my charming little Peachtree St.,
poetess has contributed another
little bit of verse which I think is
Well worth publishing. It is en
titled “Lullaby.” Here it is:
“There, little babykins, sob your
self to rest,
Get your little troubles off your
little chest:
No one’s going to hear you; no
one’s near to keep
Tile covers tucked about you or
lull you to your sleep,
For —
Mother's turkey-tr o tting at the
Piedmont ball.
Father’s doing tango steps down
, in Elks’ Club Hall.
Sister's Gaby gliding at the East
Lake hop,
Nurse is doing dippy dips, and
don’t intend to stop;
Therefore, little babykins, we
really think you’d best
Climb up on the counterpane and
rag yourself to rest.”

Editor News: —On Friday morn
ing, May 16th, the Hoschton High
School closed one <>f the most suc
cessful terms in the history of the
school. The exercises consisted of
recitations by pupils, receiving med
als, music furnished by Mrs. W. P.
DeLaPerriere’s music class and lit
erary address by Rev. A. B. Reeves,
pastor of Christian church of Win
der.
While there was present only a
small number of the patrons and
four of the trustees to inspire the
speaker, yet the address of Mr.
Reeves on “The Beauty of Christian
Womanhood ’ was masterly, and
made a lasting impression on every
body.
Two young ladies received diplo
mas. Rev. Mr. Reeves, after ap
propriate remarks, delivered the e
to Misses Sadie Belle Braselton and
Annie Naomi Hill.
The enrollment for the past year
exceeds by seventy the enrollment
last year. This is possibly due to
the perseverance of the principal,
Prof. J. P. Dendy.
The assistant teachers, * Misses
Burns and Bird, departed for their
respective homes, Anderson, S. C.,
and Athens, Saturday morning,
carrying with them the best wishes
of patrons and trustees.
The trustees had no announce
ments to make in regard to teachers
for next term. Prof. Dendy has
been elected principal of two excel
lent schools in another county, and
is not likely to remain in Hoschton
for another year, due to the school
having “outgrown” the present
building.
Resolutions of Respect
Once again the Death Angel has
entered our ranks. This time he
knocked at the door of Brother
S. E. Sharpton, and on Monday,
May sth, just a short while be
fore the clock pointed l to the
hour of three, he claimed the spir
it of our brother, then on the soft
breezes of the evening, with his
precious burden, he winged his
way' across the Great Divide from
whence no mortal ever returns.
Brother Sharpton was 45 yeay
of age. He had been patient and
long-suffering. In his death
wife has lost a loving husband,
children a devoted father and
this Lodge a true friend, for he
was a friend to man.
To the Loved ones Who are m>w
bowed down in grief we would
offer our tenderest sympathy.
May He who kisses the flowers
with dew and feeds the birds of
the forest deal kindly with them
Resolved, That as a last tribute
of respect to our brother, < lusc
resolutions be spread upon the
minutes of our order and a copy
furnished the family of the do
ceased, and a copy be furnish.-'
