Miss Nitocris Robinson delight
fully entertained the Sharp Points’
club Saturday afternoon. All the
members were present and sewing
and conversation occupied the after
noon.
Delicious sandwiches and ice tea
were served. Friday afternoon the
club received a letter from Miss
Doris Phillips who is spending a
year in Bremen Germany. Miss
Phillips was the guest of the club
at several meetings last summer
while visiting here.

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Tribble
have issued invitations to the mar
riage of their daughter, Ruth, to
Mr. Samuel Kenney Dick, the 19th
of June, at 8 o’clock, at the First
Presbyterian church, Athens, Ga.

City Court This Week.
The May term of Hall city court
convened Monday morning, with
Judge G. A Johns of Winder pre
siding. Considerable business has
been transacted, but no cases of im
portance have come up. Judge
Johns has impressed our people
with his impartial decisioms and
the expediency with which he tran
sacts the business before the court.

President Soule Becomes Citizen of
United States.

the oath of allegiance to Uncle Sam
and gave up his citizenship to the
King of England today in the fed
eral court, which convened this
morning, Judge \V. T. Newman
presiding.
He has been a resident of the
Cnited States for nealy twenty
years, and is one oj the country’s
most useful and prominent agricul
ture leaders, hut through circum
stances which changed his residence
several times just when he was a
bont to perfect the term of residence
to become naturalized, he never
till this year was in position to be
come an American citizen.
