The delicate structure of a woman’s body is a source of wonder to medical men.
So complicated ars its parts that oniy the most learned are capable of understand
ing it. Women do not know themselves. They do know, however, what it
means when any of these delicate parts get weak or disordered. They alone know
the suffering, tne misery, the prostrating effect when the generative system
becomes irregular. The disturbance not only robs them of strength and the
enjoyment of health, but they have work to do and it must be done in spite of a
body that is weak and suffering and a mind that is harassed by the dread of an
invalid's fate. Happily, most of these ailments of women are curable and one of
the most dependable medicines for the relief of such troubles is Dr. Simmons
Squaw Vine Wine. It is prepared expressly for the diseases of women. It is
a successful medicine. One that builds up the Nervous System and strengthens
and regulates the generative organs. It stops the painful symptoms promptly,
tones up the nerves, makes the body strong, the digestion good, and restores a
feeling of wellness, of power to perform the household work wi hout fatigue.
Ailing women should try this remedy. It will give them back the health, strength
and vigor of girlhood days.

Winder, Ga„ June 3. 1913.
Honorable Hoard of Education,
City:
Gentlemen: — In some res
pects the school year that has
just closed has been the most suc
cessful of any since 1 have bet u
your superint ndent. It is im
practicable in this short report
to give all details, so only a few
facts will be summarized. Dur
ing the year four hundred ninety
r our pupils were entrusted to oi>-
rare in the wh.ite schools. Of
these 145 left school before tin*
close, and of course were not
promoted. Some of those a\‘lio
left moved away from the city,
some came during the fall term
but did not return after the
Christmas holidays, while others
stopped to work early in the
spring.
Of those remaining iti school
at the close of the year 73 per
cent were promoted without con
dition,l2 (per cent were condition
ed! in one or more subjects, a*
15 per C(“nt failed of promotion.
The large percentage of c-ondi
lions ;|tid failures was caused in
part by an effort of tin* superin
tendent and teachers, in obedi
ence to your request and a desire
on their part, to raise the stand
ard of promotion. On the other
hand too many have attended
the school irregularly, while
others have made study a second
ary matter, nil hoping to bo pro
moted, (*ven with a low average
A condition means failure un-
less extra wo-k be don * during
tin* summer so that these condi
tions may be passed off by ex

fall term.
Assuming that all conditions
will be passed off, the outlook for
th*** enrollment by grades next
year is as follows.
Eleventh Grade, 9
Tenth ” 1 14
Ninth ” 30
Eighth ” 23
Seventh ” 20
Sixth ” 44
Fifth ” I 43
Fourth ” 48
Third ” 32
Second ” 53
B, First ” 18

To the A division of tin* first
grade will he added all the lift 1*
ones entering school for the first
time. To each of the grades
bo added a large number of
those who left school before the
(‘lost* together With new ones who
move into the city.
The next term will open Sept.
Ist, and the outlook for a suc
cessful year is very bright. It
is a pleasure to me to acknowl
edge the foilwing list of teach
ers whom you have elected to he
associated with me during the
year. Misses Newton Swinney,
Gliloe Irwin, Clara Pharr, Evelyn

With this corps of teachers liv*

Big Folks and the Little Folks.
Secretary Bryan is an ardent
advocate of the civil service law;
does he violate a principle when
lie insists that a man shall receive
it Florida office because that man
rendered him a personal service
in Nebraska? Is it not the dic
tum of the civil service that the
man shall he chosen from among
those available who can render
the most acceptable service to
the public? Also, that of two or
more eiially capable of service,
he shall be chosen who is most ac
ceptable to the people whose in
terests he is to serve ; Unless
these be accepted as tin* dicta be
hind tin* law we can conceive oi
no justification for the law in
principle or in practice. —Jackson
ville 'rimes Union.
The law is amply justified in
principle and is largely justified
in practice, whatever Mr. Bryan
may have done or may intend to
do in certain particular cases,says
I The Macon Telegraph.
Complete and unvarying consis
tency is perhaps too much to ex
peet in any public man or even in
any private citizen. At any
rate we are not likely to find it
as often as we sliould' like. As
for Mr. Bryan, it is about time
we had reached tin* self-evident
conclusion that if we dot not al
low him some latitude he will al
low himself all the latitude he
may happen to want.
Mr. Bryan does not invaria
