Masdames Johns and Bradley
■entertained at a spend the night
party at their camp last Friday for
a few of their young lady friends-
The young men were invited out
for supper and the party went in
automobiles late in the afternoon.
The camp is a most attractive one,
and after supper the guest greatly
enjoyed the bon-fire which was
built in front of the shack where
the party spent the evening singing
and telling can p stories. The
young men returned late in the
evening and the girls came in Sat
urday morning. Those invited
were Misses Marie Smith, Ethel
Jackson, Rubye and Ruth Carith
ers. Selma and India Niblack and
their house guests, Mrs. Chestnut
and Miss Goldsmith; Messrs. Har
per, Ike Jackson, Edwin Strange,

A delightful event of last Wed
nesday evening was the party given*
by Mrs. Joe House in honor of her
guests, the Misses Harvey and Miss
■Grace Cooper. After many interest

served.

After the Moving Picture show
last Friday evening Miss Robbie
Blasingame entertained a few of her
friends at a sandwich feast at her
home on Church street. Those
present were: Misses Edna Hayes
Foy, Jennie Smith, Robbie Blasin
game, Mary Smith, Mary Shields.
Mary Alice Strange and Lois Smith.
Each of the guests brought a light
lunch which was spread on the
pretty lawn of the Blasingame home.
After an hour of many pleasant
games the guests departed.
Thursday afternoon Mss Marie
Smith entertained the Wo-Ha-Lo’s
most delightfully. The club met at
five o’clock and Miss Smith received
them on the lawn where a prettily
arranged summer parlor was im
provised- Miss Goldsmith and Mrs.
Chestnut, of Stone Mountian were
the guests mesent. Mrs. Saxon and
Mrs. Homer Smith served \ salad
course which was thoroughly en
joyed by all present-

Harvey have returned to their home
in Greenwood, S. C.
Mrs. Note Keith, and Nobe
Keith, Jr., of Dublin, Tex., are
visiting the former’s brother, Mr.
Ronald Jackson, in this city.
Miss Ilortelle Hood has return
ed to her home in Athens after
visiting friends in Jackson and
Winder.
Miss Leola McCutchen, of Li
thonia, who has been visiting’ Mrs
J. 11, Sheats returned home Sun
day.
Miss Charlotte McCants has
returned from Hoschton after
spending several days.
Mrs. H. S. Segars is in Nor

This day has been set apart by
the annual conference to be observed
by the Ladies’ Missionary Societies
of the Methodist church quarterly
that each lady member of the church
may become tetter acquainted with
missionary work.
Monday evening an interesting
program was given by the young
lady members of the church. Their
papers on the different fields of the
foreign work showed much study
had teen given to their subjects and
proved enjoyable and profitable
Mrs. W. T. Hamby favored the
meeting with an interesting talk.
Music was interspersed and all to
gether the afternoon was pleasantly
spent. Refreshments were served
in the Sunday School room during
the social hour. Manv were present
on this occasion. The society will
meet next Monday, July 7th, with
Mrs. \\\ J. Herrin.
Miss Lillian R. Moore, daughter
of Mr. J. W. Moore, of this city,
who graduated at the State Normal
School this spring, has accepted the
position as teacher of English and
History in the high school depart
ment of the Hoganville public
B chool.

Obituary
Death has again on his mis
sion of dissolution visited the
community, and called from this
vale of mortal existence, Kara
Adell Stancil dauhter of Mr.
and Mrs. W. C. Stancil, about
eight years old.
She was for several months an
invalid, but on Snrnday June
15th 1913 at 4 A. M., her spirit
was released from this tenement
of clay and borne to the rest of
the redeemed. Her body slum
bers in the silent city of the dead
awaiting the resurrrection morn
when free from pain, and tree
from sorrow, she shall stand
among the blood w r ashed throng
who have washed their robes and
made them white in the bio ’.i of
the lamb. ' ! A friend
