Mr. T. Harry Hodges, who for
several months has been confined
to his room and house vyith illness
seems to be slowly improving,
and it is hoped he will soon be
out again.
The Winder Boy Scout base
ball team met and defeated on
the local diamond ,the well-prais
ed nine of Central. Both teams
did some good playing; the score
being 3 to 1. The Boy Scouts are
open for a game w r ith any ot
the surrounding towns.

At the home of bride’s mother
near Statham, last Sunday after,
noon, occurred the marriage of Miss
Norma Booth to Mr R L Callahan.
The bride is the daughter of the
late Jim Booth, and is a young wo
man of many excellent traits of
character. The groom is a young
man of promise and has many
friends in this city where he spent
many years of his life. For several
years he was one of Winder’s
guardians of the peace, but is now
with the Seaboard railroad with
headquarters in Atlanta.
Dr Lester Alexander Brown, of
College Park, performed the cere
mony in his usual impressive man
ner.
The young couple motored from
the home of the bride’s mother to
Winder, where they caught the
evening train for the home of the
grooha in Atlanta-

Miss Montine Williams of near
Winder entertained a few friends
very pleasantly at her beautiful
country home last week end.
Those present were: Misses Ethel
Thornton, Atlanta, Elma Mathews
and Ethel Jackson, Winder, La

Millard Harper, Winder, and her

On Sunday afternoon the party
motored to camp meeting near Law
renceville. Monday morning the
guests departed reporting a very
time and Miss Williams a
charming hostess.
Miss Robbie Blasingame is the
charming hostess to a house part of
young ladies this week- The guests
includes Miss Amy Blasingame, of
Jersey, Miss Mary Dan Cook, of
Social Circle. Miss Marie King, cf
White Plains, Miss Florence Wills,

Mrs. Millikin Entertains
The meeting of the Young Ma
trons Club last Thursday at Mrs.
Milikin’s on Park Ave., was one of
the prettiest and most enjoyable
affairs of the summer.
As the guests arrived they were
served iced grape acid by the host
ess. The punch bowl, placed on a
.table in the reception hall, was sur
rounded by sunflowers, which add
ed to the attractiveness of a spot
which proved to lie a very ponular
place thruout the afternoon. The
games were played in the dining
room, which never looked prettier
than on this occasion with masses
of sunflowers banked on the mantle
and buffet, while vases of these
same bright flowers were placed on
small tables.
The hostess was assisted in re
ceiving and entertaining by her two
sisters, Mrs. Carl McDonald, of At
lanta, and Mrs. Jacobs.
After the games a delicious salad
course was served.

Bradley, Jackson, Williamson, Hol
senbeck, Perry, Saxon, Mayne,
Hodges, Jacobs, Maynard, Saun
derp, Potts, Homer Smith and
Chandler, of Athens, Mrs. Carl Mc-

It is learned that a second floor,
or mezzanine floor, will be installed
in the large store room in the Win
der Banking Company building at
once and that the room will be oc
cupied by the Winder Dry Goods
Cos. as soon a8 the work can be com
pleted.
Several store fixtures architects
were here Siturday, endeavoring to
secure contract for the new fixtures
for the Winder Dry Goods Cos.
This store will have an elegant store
room and they propose to put in a
set of fixtures, shelvs, etc., in keep
ing [with the high tone of the
quarters they will occup7.

2 The object of said corporation
is pecuniary gain.
3 The principal business to he
engaged in by said corporation is
that of buying, selling and generally
dealing in both at wholesale and re
tail, dry goods, hats, notions, men
and womens’ furnishings, house
furnishings and general merchan
dise of every discription.
4 The principal office of said
corporation is to be located in the
City of Winder, Georgia, but] peti

right to establish other] stores and
offices either withinfor without the
State of Georgia.
5 The capital stock of said cor
poration shall be Twenty Thousand
(#20.000.00) Dollars, divided into
shares of par value of One Hundred
($100.00) each, Ten Thousand
($10,000) dollars of which is already
paid in but petitioners fdesire that
said corporationjshall have the right
to increase said slockj’from time to
time, by an affirmative vote of a
majority of its outstanding capital
stock to an amount] not to exceed
Sixty Thousand ($60,000) dollars.
6 Petitioners pray that said cor
poration may have the right to own
and hold real estate and sell or
transfer same and that it may have
the right and power so incur debts
and to borrow money and to secure
the same by mortgage or deed of
trust covering its property or in
any other manner permitted by
law.
7 Petitioners pray that said cor
poration by a majority vote of its
stock may secure amendments to
its charter, including the right of
the renewal of the same: and that
by a majority vote of its stock it
may liquidate its business and dis
pose of its assets.
8 Wherefore petitioners pray
that they may lie incorporated un
der the name and style aforesaid
all of the rights end powers herein
prayed for, together with all other
rights, powers and privileges inci
dent to similar corportions under
the lava of Georgia.
