Sims Perry.
Wednesday afternoon at 3:30
o’clock attthe home of the bride
near Carter Hill,occurred the mar
riage of Miss Ruth Sims to Mr.
Ernest Perry, of this city.
The bride is the attractive
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J.
Sims, while the groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Perry, of
Winder.
The marriage was a quiet home
affair, only the relatives and a
few invited friends of the con
tracting parties being present.
Rev-. A. B. Reeves in a very
impressive manner pronounced
the words that united this cou
ple.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Perry tender
ed the br f de and groom a recep
tion Wednesday afternoon, to
which many of the friends of the
couple were invited.
For the present they are at
home to their friends at resi
dence of the groom’s parents on
Church street, but will shortly
move into the home of the groom
on Candler street.
Williams-Harper
Hotel Ansley resembled “Hon
eymnon Hall” last night.
First Miss Luana Harper, of Bo
gart, and Dr. Spurgeon Williams, a
leading dentist of Winder, Ga. were
married in the hotel parlors at 8
o’clock by Rev. John H. Wood, of
Atlanta-
Second, Mr. and Mrs. H. V.
Hall arrived at the hotel just after
8 o’clock from Albany, Ga., where
they had been married late yester
day afternoon.
Third, at 8:30 R. I. Brooks and
wife, of Monroe, Ga., married late
yesterday, registered.
In explanation of the first mar
riage, Dr. Williams said that his
business would not permit him to
be absent from Winder ovCr a day
or two and that in deference to the
wishes of his hride he had come to
Atlanta late yesterday and arranged
for the marriage last night to
“avoid a church affair land too
much publicity.”
Mrs. Williams, who resides in
Bogart, is well known in musical
circles of that community, having
taught the piano there for a num
ber of years. The groom has been
a dentist at Winder since his fgrad
uation from the Atlanta School of
Dentistry live years ago.
Attending the wedding party last
night were: Mrs. R. A. Nunnally,
of Statham, and Willard Harper,
of Winder, brother and sister of
the bride, aho J. P. Williams, of
Woodbury, Miss Monteen Williams
of Cox college, and Paul Williams,
of Winder, brothers and sisters of
the groom.
The bride and groom entertained
at a lavish wedding dinner. They
will leave for Winder today.—Con
stitution.
Dr. Williams is one of the most
prominent young professional men
of this city. Both he and his bride
come from prominent families in
this section, and Mrs. Williams
will be received in the social life of
the city as a charming addition to
the young married set.
Mrs R. O. Rbss is in Atlanta,
where she went to attend the mar

Farrar, to Mr. Authur Burnhan,

The week's engagement of the
Ina Lehr Stock Cos., at the Lyric
is meeting with favor with Win
der’s show going public, and
the popular actress and her sup
porting company are repaying
them with a good class of enter
tainment.
Monday night the bill was
“Tli e Broken Violin” and the
way in which it was presented
was convincing that Winder
was to have a week of good clean
amusement. Tuesday evening
the old favorite, with many, “Le
na Rivers” was presented, and
met with the same approval ac
corded the first night’s show.
When the management announ
ced the play for last night, those
wllo had read the hook from
which it was taken and knew
*
Mrs. Lehr’s versatility, were as
sured of a splendid treat, and
the largest attendance of the
week was present when the cur
tain/ went up. “The Lonesome
Pine” as rendered in the version
of the Ina Lehr Stock Cos., was
not a disappointment, even to
those who had seen other compa
nies present it.
Tonight “Beyond the Law’’ is
announced, and on Friday even
ing “The Shepherd of the Hills”
will be given and it is needless
to say that these bills will be
greeted by increasing crowds,
and that Mrs. Lehr and her well
balanced company will continue
to please.
Manager Sharpton deserves the
thanks of the people of the city
for his efforts and success iu
giving the patrons of the Lyric
the class of plays and pictures
he has been putting cn this sea
son.
Mrs. Saunders Entertains.
Mr. J. M. Saunders entertain
ed the Young Matrons Club at'
a delightful porch party last
Tliyu-sday in honor of her house
guest Mrs. Wingate, of New
Mexico.
The porch was made very at
tractive with potted plants and
vases of flowers.
The interesting game of for
ty-two was played for some time
which proved very exciting and
entertaining.
The dainty little score cards
were painted in daisies and tied
with green ribbon.
Mrs. Saunders received her
guests, wearing a becoming lin
gerie dress, while the guest of
honor was attractively gowned
in charmeuse.
After the games a delicious
fmlad course with iced tea, was
