Young- Matrons’ Club.
Mrs. Clyde Williamson entertain
ed the Young Matrons’ Club in a
most delightful manner last Thurs
day afternoon at the lovely home
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M.
Jackson.
As the guests arrived they were
served delicious sandwiches with
not tea by Miss Grace Jackson.
The home was beautiful with its
decorations of fe'rne, palms and
growing hyacinths.
After many exciting games of
forty-two, a delightful sweet course
was served.
Those enjoying Mrs. Williamson’s

Novel Entertainment.
A novel and charming ifvent
was that Friday evening, when
a company 0 f friends assembled
at the hom,g of Mr. and Mrs.
H. A. Carithj rs, on Hroad street,
to enjoy mo s t excellent music
rendered on th e ir handsoirt new
Vicfcrola. Th. selections were
<choiee; indeed upon the whole) it
was a rare treat, which was en
joyed thoroughly. Mr. and Mrs.
Carithers d a delightful
hospitality.
A special guest of the occasion
'was Mrs. Mendenhall, of Atlanta,
mother of Mrs. Carithers. Other
invited guests were Mr. and Mrs
Faust, Mr. and Mrs. Camp, Mrs.
of Grayson, Mrs. Menden

One of the most enjoyable af
fairs of last week was the class
entertainment given at the res
inenee of Mr. W. T. Appleby, on
Wright street, by Prof. Willie
Cooper, to his music class, on
Wednesday evening.
Assisting Prof. Cooper in enter
taining, were Prof. Huffaker and
Miss Irwin. About thirty children
and young people were Prof.
Cooper’s guests, and the evening
was spent pleasantly in games
and music. Delightful refresh
ments were served thruout the
evening.

Friday evening.

The many girl friends of Miss
Mable Jackson were delightfully en
tertained at her home last Friday
night. Music was rendered by Mr.
Cooper thruout the evening and sev
eral vaudeville sketches were given
by Misses Lurline Garrison and
Charlotte McCants. Heart dice
was .played and at a late hour the
crowd enjoyed themselves heartily
pulling candy. On departing all
declared Miss Jackson a charming
hostess.
Mrs. D DjKesler entertained at
a delightful 6 o’clock dinner Tues
day evening at her home on Broad
street. Her guests were Drs Belk,
Kendall, Eakes and Yarbrough,
Dr S T Ross, Mrs W R Walker and
Miss Blanche Smith.
