trip about lay-by time.

every minute can be spent, with

to go with us. We want to get

from; and go to some place about
six miles from Washington and
pitch our tents. Maybe we can

hands of the secretary. Business
is before pleasure. We want to
attend your business well, but
when we have games or hikes or
meetings, ask your employer or
parent if they can spare you, if
so come, if not stick to your job
and get your excuse to us.
Each hev who is going to try
for the trip must get his name to
the Scout Master as soon as pos
sible. No one will be accepted

Mrs. Shackelford Dead.

Thos. and. Shackelford, throughout!
Georgia, are sympathizing with
l ,: m deeply in his great bereave
ment over the loss of his wife,
who died at their home in Athens
Saturday evening. Mrs. Shack
elford was before her marriage
Miss Sujette Lanier, of West
Point. Ga., and the body was
taken to that eity for interment.

has accepted a position with the

Cos., Athens, as traveling sales
man. and will doubtless prove a
splendid addition to this firm’s
new road force.

Banks to Close Early.
On and after the first day of
April all the 'Winder banks will
close their floors at and o’clock in
the afternoon. All interested par
ties will take notice. This policy
will lx* in vogue until September
1, 1914.
Motorcycling bids tail* to be
very popular in Winder this sum
mer. There are a number of ma
chines in town. Among the riders
