\a/OULD you buy a good dollar for eighty cents? Certainly you would. Then if you expect
W do any building during the next twelve months, now is the time. Building material oi
all kinds, except tin plate, galvanized iron sheets and steel beams, are twenty to twenty five
per cent cheaper now than they were a few months ago. These extraordinary low prices
were brought about by the European war. However the wise ones tell us the war will. be
over in less than six months. If such is the case, then the commercial world of Nort Amen
ca will soar to heights unknown since the sixties. The whole of Europe will be calling on us
for cotton, corn, wheat, cloth, lumber and in fact almost everything to sustain hie, and
build up their ruined cities that have been devastagted by the ravages of war, and it is up to
America and particularly the South to furnish a large part of these commodities. Therefore
it becomes us to get busy and do our work while labor is at the bottom —lowest m ten years,
and building material way down, and we must have work or go hungry. The carpenters are
just compelled to work regardless of wages, so if you expect to build any time soon, you will
confer a favor on your town and those dependent on their labor for a living, and on yourself
bv saving from 15 to 30 per cent in real cash by building now. Ben Franklin said “the Lord
helps those who help themselves” and we would add these few words, “and their
neighbors.” We are anxious to live and let live—help us by doing your repairing and build
ing now. : : WINDER LUMBER COMPANY, Phone 47. : : : : :
