WEDDING YESTERDAY.
The marriage of I>r. W. Lee I3e
la Perriere of this city, to Miss Lena
Gertrude Stanton, of Social Circle,
at the home of the bride’s father, Mr.
W. H. Stanton, occurred at 4:30 yes
terday afternoon amid brilliant set
tings and was wknemed by a large
circle of invited relatives, friends
and admirers of the contracting par
ties.
The beautiful home was handsonx
ly decorated and the ceremony was
pronounced by the bride’s pastor, the
Rev. .1. T. Winchester.
Miss Nellie Stanton was her sis
ter’s maid of honor, Miss Wynette
Walker, of Atlanta, and Miss Min
nie Belle Knox were bridesmaids.
Mr. Herman I><* la Prreiere, of Hosch
ton, was best man, and Messrs. L.
C. Russell and 11. T Flanigan, of
Winder, groomsmen. The ribbons
were held by littl * Misses Elizabeth
Adams, Charlotte Wallace, Sara Stan
ton and Lanna Shepherd. Miss Lillie
May Stanton was ring bearer. The
bride was given in marriage by her
brother, Mr. Chester San ton.
The bride and groom left at once
for a five-weeks tour of the North
and West during which they will
visit the Panama ex]*osition.
Returning they will make Winder
their home, and Mrs. DeLaPerriere
will be a charming addition to the so
cial life of the city, and will receive
a warm welcome from our people.

Miss Lena Stanton has boon the
honor guest at a number of beau

Thursday morning Mrs. (". VV. Miller
gave a luncheon for this popular
bride-elect. The Miller home was

decorated for the occasion in pot
plants and bright colored blossoms.
Three tables were arranged for the
games of 500. At these tables a hot
luncheon was served at noon, follow
ed by an ice course.
Friday morning Mrs. .lack Watson
for Miss Stanton, inviting both the
young ladies and young matrons. Tim
gift* from each will add much to the
bride’s collection of linen for she re
received handsome pieces in embroid
ery and crochet. About forty guests
were present. The bride-elect wore
a lovely gown of blue crepe. An ice
course was served at the conclusion
of the games.

In the afternoon a salad course was
served. The bride-elect wore white
chiffon elaborately trimmed in lace

Brillient Wedding in Athens Tonight.
The marriage of Miss Julia Hrand
and Mr. Rolling H. Sasnett which wil
occur this evening at the beautiful
Milledgc Avenue home of Judge Chas.
H. Brand, In Athens, will be an
event which attracts a large number
of the young couple’s friends to that
city.
The bride is the second daughter
of the present judge of the Western
circuit, an accomplished and charm
ing young woman, and the groom
comes from one of Georgia's promi
nent families. They have a wide cir
cle of friends In the State whose
congratulations and best wishes will
be showered upno them. (

A party of young peopel chaperoned
by Air. and Airs. M, H. Lowe are
off on a camping trip at Mchelson’s
1 mill for a fortnight.
The many friends of Airs. Gertrude
Gilbert are rejoicing with her over
her return from the hospital where
she has been for more than six
weeks.
Mrs. Haton .Moore and children re
turned to their home in Bethlehem
after a week pleasantly spent here
with her parents, Air. and Mrs. W\ J.
Ross.

Aliss Maud Farnbro of Atlanta .spent
the week end here with relatives.
Air. and Mrs. Charlie Elder of
Athens spent \londay afternoon in
this city.
Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Chambers and
sons motored down to Atlanta last

Mrs. W. Al. Stinchcomb and Mrs.
T. L. Holcomb spent, last Wednes

Dr. Williams.
Airs. S. A. Boland entertained the
I\. K. club at her beautiful home on
Broad street last Wednesday. As
the guests arrived she seated them
on the lawn where they enjoyed an
hours conversation and fancy work
after which a musical program was
enjoyed and the most interesting fea
ture of the afternoon was a salad and

joyed. They had with them as their
honor guest Airs. Charlie Jackson, of
Atlanta.
NEW CHAPEL.
Mr. and Mrs. Muller McElroy vis
ited relatives near Hebron Sunday.
Mr. N. J. Casey and sister of near
Bethlehem were in our section re
cently.
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Austin spent
Saturday night at Eastville, Oconee
county with their brother and sister

Little P. R. Smith Jr. is spending
a few days with his aunt, Mrs. John
Wright near Monroe.
Mr. B. T. Montgomery and daugh
ters, Misses Mae and Willie, went
up to Cedar creek Sunday to attend
the Sunday School Convention.
Mrs. John Martin had as her guests
Saturday and Sunday, Mr. and Mrs.
Golden Ledbetter of near Watkins
ville. They accompanied little Ella
Martin home, who had been visiting
them several days.
Mr. Rozzie Arnold, of Statham,
was In our section Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Wright, spent
Sunday at Statham with Mrs.
Wright’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ow
ens.
Mrs. Katie Montgomery has been
visiting her daughter, Mrs. Kilgore,
near Union recently.
We are informed there will be a
singing at Chapel on the fourth Sun
day in this month. Some good sing,
ers are expected, and all lovers of
good singing are looking forward to
it with pleasure. Everybody come.
Farmers are very busy in our cor
ner of BarroV, trying to murder
“General Green,” but as he has had
the advantage of them several days,
he lias a good start and it will be
some time before they succeed. Crops
are fine though and everything looks
very promising for a big harvest this
fall.
As the Paradise correspondent has
adopted our pen name, “Blue Bell,”
we will further be known as “Jolly
Kid.”
