ROBERTS TELLS A GOOD
ONE ON HALL COUNTY.
We came out on the train last Sat-
Saturday with our kwh! friend Itob
erts who is representative of Hall
county. Representative Roberts tells
a good one on Hall county. It goo.*
like this: Several years ago when
Judge Snax Patterson, of Cumming,
wa# a member of the senate a bill
came up calling for more appropri
ations for the state insane asylum.
Judge Patterson was ardently defend
ing the bill. A senator from Hall
county attempting to embarrass the
Judge, asked if he would yield to a
question, the judge absented. The
senator from Hall asked if the Judge
knew why there was such a large
per cent of the people from Forsyth
county (Judge Patterson’s county;
in the asylum. The judge stopped
for a moment and said he had never
thought about the question. He added
however, that when people in For
syth county went crazy the people j
sent them to the asylum. He furth- j
er observed that that rule did not j
work in Hall, that when a fellow
went crazy over in Hal] they went
him to tlie legislature. The judge
made the rest of his speech without
further molesting by the gentleman
from Hall.— Lavonia Times.

Sunday School Rally at Corinth.
The members, of the Corinth Sun
day school rendered an inspiring ral
ly at their home church two and one
half miles south of Winder, August 14
1915.
The day was pleasant and attend
ance large. Exercises were under
the direction of J. 11. Bedingfield, su
perintendent of Corinth school, and
consisted of two sessions—morning
and afternoon. At both sessions the
large chorus choir rendered excellent
service. Pantomimes, recitations and
drill? in which all who participated
acquitted themselves creditable.
The Corinth people out-did them- ,
selves in hospitality. All present re- |
port a must enjoyable day and are
glad for tlic increasing interest in
the Sunday school work.
The address of the day was didiv
-0(1 by Rev. E. J. Hammond, U. I).,
District Superintendent of the Meth
odist Episcopal church. He traced,
briefly, the history ot the Sunday
school organization, dwelt somewhat
at length on the work of the school,
both in giving Bible instruction and
converting the young, and outlined
in an inspiring way, what constitutes
an ideal school. The address was
helpful to every person present, giv
ing each individual an opportunity of
ca'ching a larger vision of the duties
they owe to their l/>rd ami fellow
uian.
The superintendent desires to
thank each member of school for
help rendered and the community for
work ami untiring efforts in ar
ranging the program which measur
ed success to the school and joy to
the audience.
The regular protracted meeting .at
Corinth followed the Sunday ischool
exercises, continuing throughout Ihe
week, conducted by the pastor, Rev.
L. E. Kilgore. The attendance and
interest were good and several con
versions and accession* resulted. 17
members were added.
