not there shall be a local tax for
school purposes, now, therefore, bv
virtue of the authority imposed upon
me by the provisions of said section,
1534 of tiie Code of 1911, I hereby

row at which the qualified voters of

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS.
State of Georgia, County of Barrow.
Bids will be received by H. G.
Hid, Ordinary of Harrow county, Ga.,
in the City of Winder, in the Ordi
nary’s office on November 23rd, 1915,
at 12 o’clock, noon, for the erection
of a jail building for the said county.
Building to ilieludo living apartment
for the jailer, with cell rooms in
the rear, two tiers high, containing
six ri 11s each, one for lunatics and
one for females. Said building will
he of fire and burglar proof con
struction.
The construction of said jail build
ing to begin within ten days after
signing of contracts.
The contractor is to receive 85 per
cent of the work done and material
on the ground in monthly install
ments; 15 per cent being retained
until six days aftev the final com
pletion of the building.
Each bidder is to deposit with his
hid a certified check for i5500.00, pay
able to the Ordinary of the said coun
ty or his successor, as a guarantee
that he will enter into a contract
with the county upon the terms of
his hid within ten days after its ac
ceptance and give a bond in some
Solvent Security Cos. in the sum re
quired by the said laws of the State
of (Borgia, to guarantee the faithful
performance of his contract. Upon
his failure to ent< r into such contract
and give such bond, said check of
$500.00 to be retained by the Ordina
ry or his successor as liquidated dam
ages. There will be twelve invited
bidders which will be selected by
the Architect and Ordinary which
are to place a deposit with the Ar
chitect of SIO.OO to assure him of
the safe return of the plans and spec
ifications to his office, and that a
satisfactory bid wtll be submitted,
but in the event that the plans and
specifications are returned to the Ar
chitect’s office and a bid is not sub
mit tid by the contractor, his check
will not be returned to him, but in
the event that the plans and specifi
cations are returned to the Architect
arid a bid is submitted by the above
date, the deposit will be returned to
the contractor. Other contractors
wishing to bkl on the work will find
plans and specifications on file in
the Ordinary’s office in the city of
Winder, Oa., the county of Barrow,
or in the Builders Exchange in Atlan
ta, or in the Architect’s office in An
derson, S. C.

APPLICATION FOR CHARTER.

To the Superior Court of said coun
ty.
Dr. J. T. Wages Drug Company
1 brings this its petition to the court
and shawls the following facts:
1.
On January 4th, 1913, an order was
issued by the Superior Court of
Jackson incorporating the said Dr.
J. T. Wage 8 Drug Company for a
period of twenty years from that
date, at that time the jurisdiction of
the said matter being in Jackson
county.
2.
Since that time Barrow county has
been created and the said corpora
tion now has its office and principal
place of business in the City of Win
der and in the county of Barrow.
3.
The incorporators accepted the
charter of the said Dr. J. T. Wages
Drug Company and have been since
that date operating under it in ac
cordance with the terms thereof.
Petitioner desires to amend the
said charter in two particulars: First
it is desired that the name of the
corporation he changed to “Barrow'
County Drug Company” and second,
it is desired that the capital stock
of the said corporation be reduced
to the sum of Five Thousand Dollars,
but that all other parts of the origi
nal charter remain as they were and
that all rights thereunder le pre
served and petitioner shows that all
the legal proceedings required rela
tive to this application for these
amendments have le, n complied with
Wherefore, petitioner prays that th
said amendments to the original
charter hereinbefore asked for lie
granted by the court and that an or
der be passed after due advertisemen
changing the name of the petioning
corporation to Harrow County Drug
Company with a capital stock of s•>,-
000.00.
