ROME, Nov. lOth— The North
Georgia Methcd : .st Conference con
vened at the Firet Methodist Church
here today for its forty-ninth annual
sessien, Bishop Collins Denny, of
Baltimore, presiding. Nearly 500
ministers and laymen are in atten
dance. The conference will con
tinue is season until next Monday.
Walter Shanktin, representing
the religious, commercial and civic
bodies of Rome, delivered an eloqu
ent ajid hearty welcome to the con
ference, which was responded to by
Bishop Denny.
