According to a recent church ceil
®us it was found that in round num
bers the Methodists in the city had
5)0 moulders, Baptists .">OO, am* the
Chris ians 400, besides others.
Now all regular church attendants
realize full well that n’o is a good
average attendance at either church
in the city. We have about 3700 peo
p?ople, where are tin* people w'ho do
not attend services. They surely are
a distinct loss to the various church
es. They are missis. The misters
want them and can not do rtielr best
work without them. There are of
ficials in some of the churches who
*carcx-*’y ver attend services. One
yf two things is tme the church is
wrong or the individuals are wrong,

'Hie non church goer is fine feeding
ground for Hur< llitcs, Holy Rollers,
Sev nth Day Adventists, street preach

and “cranks" and "quacks’ of nil)
c nuplexions.
Th* fellow* who doesn’t lit tend
church regularly gradually begins to
feel that he is a sort of lsmaelite
and wrongfully feels that every
man’s hand is against him and> thus
logically he begins to raise his hand
against every man. The non-church
goer usually does one of four things:
1 Develops into a regular drunkard;
2 becomes a •spiritual adulterer; 3
grows embittered against the church;
4 gets to be an incurable grbuch
and a continuous knocker. All men
do not do this, but the average man
who violates one of Hod's express
commands, "negleot not the assem
bling of yourselves together.” is in
fine shape to violate all.
1 know the preachers are not all
they con’d be. The members are
not all perfect and that is why we
appeal to the nongoers to come and
show us the right and neceeptable
way that we may walk therein.
For one 1 would like to have the
privilege of preaching not only for
or.ee but all the while to every Bnjv
tist in the city. And what pnacher
w mid not be greatly helped ard in
swired by the • presence of all his
members. It broke Isaiah’s heart be
c use he had to minister to people
w th e. is! who could not hear, and
with eyes who could not see.

you an injury, see him and straight

g.*i wance against the pastor, see hin
privateely and get together instead
o staying away from church and
bringing reproach upon the cause
of Christ. The church is the one
institution established by j Christ),
and he said that the gates of hell
should not prevail against it. Pas
tors and members are temporal, the
church is eternal. Stand by the
church, give it your influence, vour
prayers. Be loyal to it if for no oth
er reason, do it for Jesus' sake. He
endured much for you; in return
stand loyal'}- to the one institution
for which he died. Say with the
hymnist—
"l love thy church, Oh Cod.
Her walls before me stand,
IVar as the apple of mine eyes
And graven on my hands.”
Distress in the Stomach.
There are many people who have a
distress in the stomach after meals.
It is due to indigestion and easily
remedied by taking one of Ohamber
la’n's Tablets after meals. Mrs. Hen
ry Pod glum. Victor. X. Y., writes:
“For some time 1 was troubled with
headache and distress in my sterna, h
