Hoschton
Bl al ock-Rogers.
Hoschton, Ga., Jan. 18. —One of the
most interesting weddings of the sea
son was that of Miss Lola Etholine
Blalock, of this place, and Dr. John
Robert Rogers, of Ad rain, on Tues
day afternoon at the home of the
bride’s mother, Mrs. Malisa Blalock.
The home was beautifully decorated,
the Christmas color scheme being
effectively carried out.
Just before the ceremony Miss. Ca
lena Dardy sweetly sang “Because"
and “Constancy.” Promptly at two
o’clock the bridal party entered tho
parlor to the strains of mendelsshon’
wedding march beautifully rendered
by Mies Ethol Anderson.
The bridal party stood under an
immense arch of smilax and holly,
back of which was an embankment
of palms and ferns. Rev. Verdell im
pressively performed the ring cere
mony.
The bride wore a smart traveling
suit of blue cloth with hat, gloves,
and shoes to match, and carried
a lovely bouquet of bride’s roses.
A delicious salad course was
served immediately after which the
couple left for their home in Adrian.
A large number of useful and expen
sive presents were received. Mrs.
Rogere has many friends whom she
won by her lovely disposition and
sweet character. She is a graduate
of Brenau.
Dr. Rogers is a successful dentist
and numbers his friends by his ac
quaintances.
A number of' out of town guests
were present. !. i |.

The Misses Darby entertained at a
nri&cellaneous shower complimentary
to Miss Lola Blalock, a feature of
much pleasure. She was showered
with many lovely gifts that were
suspended from an immense Christ
mas bell. The guests were served a
delicious sweet course by little Miss
Frances Braselton. Mis 6 Blalock was
a pretty picture in charmouse with
lace trimmings and black picture hat.
In honor to Miss Blalock, Misses
Cronic and Titshaw were hostesses
at a Ritchen shower. After an inter
esting contest a salad course was
served. The guests were then invited
into a miniature kitchen where a
number of useful articles were pre
sented to the bride-elect. She was
very pretty in a dress of white cloth
with hat to match.
