MRS. MAMIE HALL'
GAINS 19 POUNDS
Waj Sick in Bed for Eleven Months
and Only Weighed 96 Pounds.
i i. •
Still another comes forward and
adds her voice to the hundreds who
have already indorsed the wonderful
medicine, Tanlac. Mrs. Mamie Hall,
who lives at 803 Fourth Avenue, S.,
Nashville, says he suffered for
and that the trouble was finally pro
nounced cancer of the stomach. She
also states that she had fallen off as
a result of the trouble until she only
weighed 96 pounds, but that she now
weighs 115, a gain of 19 pounds.
“I had a bad form of stomach trou
ble,” said Mrs. Hall in relating her
remarkable case to a Tanlac repre
sentative, “and had suffered from it
for years. I lost so much ties'll and
was so w'eak that I was confined to
my room and bed for eleven months
and my head ached so bad I could
hardly stand it at times.
“Yes,” she continued, “they actu
f ally had to prop me up in bed to
take a drink of water, as I just
couldn’t help myself at all. I lived
on malted milk and Graham crackers
The steady pains in my chest made
me afraid I had lung trouble and
my head ached so bad it seemed
like it w r ould burst.
“About a year ago I was taken to
the hospital, the doctors saying I
had cancer of the stomach. I was so
nervous all this time that the slight
est noise would almost drive me
mad, and the pains in my back hurt
me so I hardly ever got a night’s
rest.
“My husband Was terribly out of
heart about me, as the doctor said
nothing would save me but an opera
tion. We had spent a lot of money
tor medicines and it seemed like
nothing would do any good.
“Well, sir, I happened to see a
piece in the paper about Tanlac,
and it told about a woman in Louis
ville that had suffered just exactly
the same way I was. I begged my
husband to let me try it and he said
he had no faith in it, but he would
get it if I wanted it. So he got a
bottle and we kept it a secret from
the doctor.
“That was the best thing I ever
did in my life, for I began to feel
better and gain weight with the
very first dose. I had gone down so
I didn’t weigh but 96 pounds, but
after taking four bottles, I weigh
115 —five pounds more than I ever
weighed in my life.
"I now feel strong and well and
can do all my housework. I can eat
anything—why, I actually ate a to
mato after I had been taking Tanlac
a week, and that’s something that
never would agree with me before. I
have no more of those terrible pains
and I am doing fine in every way.
“I got a letter yesterday from my
husband at Chattanooga and he said
he had taken two bottles of Tanlac
and was doing fine. I am going to
Chattanooga Sunday, and I will sure
take a bottle of Tanlac in my grip
This medicine just about saved my
life and kept me from having to
have an operation.
“Yes,” she continued, “you can
print it. 1 want everybody to know
about it. I don’t think folks ought
to be too modest to prevent all the
suffering they can.”
Surely this is a most convincing
case of suffering and distress being
alleviated by the use of a stomach
corrective and tonic which relieves
the condition that gives rise to so
many different symptoms of deadly
diseases. It is not claimed that Tan
lac alone produces flesh. This great
medicine frees the system from pois
ons arising from the improper diges
tion of the food and helps nature
turn the food into strenegth and puts
the body in good working order. So
the body gains back its normal
weight as naturally as water flows
down hill.
Tanlac is sold by leading druggists
in all principal cities of the South

by Dr. G. W. DeLaPerriere, and in

A LOCAL BUSINESS MAN
EXPRESSES APPRECIATION.
Of New School Building and Tells
People to Vote For Bonds on
March Third.
The following statement was de
livered to the mayor this week and
he thought well enough of same to
ask the local press to handle it,
which we cheerfully do.
“There possibly being a number
of people in Winder who are not fa
miliar with our modern school build
ing and the conveniences it carries,
I feel that a statement as to the
actual structure as it will be when
completed, will be of interest to
many iu Winder. I have, therefore,
carefully weighed and figured just
what we will have the latter part of
May in the way of a strictly first
class, up-to-date modern school build
ing.
“To start at the basement of the
building, there are 7280 square feet
or floor space to be used for chem
ical labratories, toilets, furnace room,
janitor quarters, gymnasium rooms,
etc.
“On the first floor w r e find 16,512
square feet of floor space which
cares for the auditorium with a seat
ing capacity of more than 1,000 9
large class rooms, one ladies’ rest
room, one men’s rest room, Superin-,
tendent’s office, and two music
rooms with wide corridor around the
entire auditorium and two cloak
rooms.
“The second floor contains 8576
square feet of floor space with sev
en large class rooms, one large cloak
room and three smaller cloak rooms
with corridor as above mentioned.
“The class room average about 23
by 28 feet, with ceiling 14 feet,
which equals 9016 cubic feet of air
space to each room, allowing forty
pupils to the room, will give to each
individual 225 and 2-5 cubic feet of
air or breathing space.
“Every class room in the building
has a locker for supplies, etc., and
every room has a direct connection
with the heating and ventilating
plant. The heating system installed
TOP DRESSING TALKS
.
8" . Top dressing by hand from bag or bucket
is only partially satisfactory. It takes both en
d urance and skill. The material is lumpy and
hard to distribute. Even with the best of care
the crop always shows an over-fertilized green
ridge for each sweep of the arm, with short in
ferior plants between. Only half of the crop
really profits at all, but hitherto there was no
better way. ARCADIAN Sulphate of Ammonia
has changed all this. It works perfectly in any
machine grain drill or fertilizer distributor. Each
particle of fertilizer fall on its alloted inch of
ground, and each plant gets an equal share. It
is the modern machine against hand labor again
and the machine wins every time. About 100
pounds per acre.

this tube is inflamed you have a rumbling

in this building is commonly known
as the Mechanical Fan Furnace Sys
tem. This system is designed to sup
ply the whole building with a fresh
supply of warm air which will heat
the building to 70 degrees Farenheit
in zero weather. Every fifteen min
utes, this fresh warm air is forced
into the buldiing by a 72 inch motor
driven fan, and the foul air is pump
ed out of the building by a similar
process. Thus you will understand
the whole building gets a complete
change of air four times every hour.
Therefore the chances for inocula
tion by germs are reduced to a min
imum.
“The entire building is provided
with a complete set of signal bells
and phone system radiating from
the Superintendent’s office to all
parts of the building, thus putting
the Superintendent’s office in direct
communication with all teachers and
pupils.
“The building is equipped with a
modern steel pipe conduit electric
light system exactly the same as the
United States requires in its govern
ment buildings. All of the forego
ing modern appliances together with
the splendid press brick and stone
exterior makes this one of the most
modern school buildings in Georgia.
The building will comfortably care
for 750 to 800 pupils.
"The building is beautifully ar
ranged to front the junction of Ath
ens and Church streets with a large
entrance from Athens street on
the one side and another like en
trance from Church street, and a like
number to the basement.
“In size, the Winder school build
ing compares with our neighbors as
follows: It is 50 per cent larger
than the Christian College at Au
burn, it is 50 per cent larger than
the city school at Hartwell, 25 per
cent larger than the school at Mon
roe, 25 per cent larger than the
scliopl at Thomson, larger than any
grammar school in the city of Atlan
ta.
“There isn’t a child or property
owner, be he with or without chil
dren, but what this building will be
a blessing to intellectually or finan
cially. ,
“I am sure the above facts ac
count for the practical unanimous
approval of the bond issue called for
March third, on which date every cit
izeu and taxpayer of Winder should
make it a special privilege to vote i
for bonds with which to complete
the greatest enterprise within our
city limits.”
