Hearn-Patat.
Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at
the home of the bride on Chestnut
street in Monroe, occurred the mar
riage of Miss Viola Hearn and Mr.
Carl Patat of this place. The home
was beautifully decorated with palms
ferns and cut flowers.
The ceremony was performed by
Rev. J. R. McKirsey, of the First
M. E. church in the presence of rel
atives and friends
The bride is the eldest daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. G. J Hearn, of Mon
roe, and has many lovely traits of
character. The groom is the son of
Mr. and .Mrs. H. E. Patat, of this
place, and is a yocrg man of unusu
al strength of character and possess

Methodist Missionary Society.
The Woman’s Missionary Society
had a pleasant meeting at the M.
E. church last Monday afternoon.
The reports were very good and
a prayer circle was formed to meet
during the revival week. The meet
ing was well attended.
Mrs. Greene, of Mflledgeville,
is visiting her daaghter, Mrs. Robert
Arnold.
Mrs. J. A. Perry and sons. Joe
and James, of Lawrenceville, and Mr
Smith, of North Carolina, spent last
Tuesday with the family of Mrs. M.
