Miss Memphis Smith, formerly
with the J. T. Strange Cos., of this
city, but who some time ago moved
with her father’s family to Geneva,
Ga., arrived in Winder Wednesday
to assist in the millinery department
of the Strange store. Miss Smith
is very popular here and the an
nouncement that she is again to be
with the big department store will
be good news to the l uying public.

Junior Priscilla Circle.
The Junior Priscilla Circle had
quite an enjoyable meeting last
Thursday afternoon with Mrs. W. L.
DeLaPerriere as hostess at her pret
ty new home on Candler street. Af
ter the usual hour spent in sewing
tea and sandwiches were served. The
members present were Mesdames Ed
gar De La Perriere, Arnold, J. J.
Segars Roy Jackson, Parham, Fort
son, Maynard, Hodges, Carithers, Ho
mer Smith, Vernie Sharpton, Wil
liamson; Mrs. McCants was an in
vited guest.
Mr. M. C. House and Mr. S. J.

Atlanta at Wesley Memorial hospital

The Womans Missionary Society
of the Baptist church gave a Silver
Tea on the evening of the 14th of
•the home of Dr. and Mrs. S. A. Bo
land. The members had arranged an
artistic program for the occasion. Af
ter the crowning of the Queen and
the music which was rendered so
beautifully,*a silver offering was car
ried out in a most touching manner.
A lot of jolly old games were played
in which every one took a part. A
neat little sum was realized and the
ladies appreciate the interest mani
fested.

Mr. Vester Pentecost and mother,
Mrs. D. J. Pentecost, of near East
ville, visited relatives here Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wall spent
Friday night with Mr. and Mrs.

grandmother, Mrs. Adaline Bowman,
