JOHN B. HUTCHESON
FOR COURT OF APPEALS
John B. Hutcheson, of Ashburn,
*Turner county, candidate for one of
the three places on the bench of the
state court of appeals, is a native
Georgian.
Ho was born and reared at Jones
boro, Clayton county, Ga.
Asa young man he taught school
in Clayton and Fayette counties, in
order to pay his way through col
lege.
He served as solicitor of the city
court of Jonesboro.
He has served as mayor of Jones
boro.
He has been in the active practice
of the law in Georgia for the past
thirty years.
He served as representative from
Turner county in the legislature which
lias just adjourned.
In that legislature he was joint au
thor, as a member of the prohibition
caucus committee, of Georgia’s present
prohibition bills.
He was floor leader in the house
against the Savannah recall bill
which was an attack upon the enforce
ment of the prohibition law in that
city.
He is a trustee of the Georgia Nor
mal and Industrial (’olloge at Mil
ledgeville and has devoted much time
to that institution.
He is indorsed by some of the fore
most among former judges of the su
p-eme court and court of appeals; and
by some of the present and ex-judges
of the superior courts, as well as by
the bar of his home city and neigh
boring communities.
He is thoroughly qualified for the
position.
It is upon this basis only that he
asks the support and influence of the
voters of Georgia.

Candidate Hughes during the few
months he has been campaigning for
the presidency as the republican nom
inee. He has dug up old issues
which were dead years ago and has
flaunted them in the face of the
country. In his disperate hunt for
&n issue he has delved into the ar
chives of the past and dragged out
the old frazzled out issues that were
prominent in the days of reconstruc
tion and afterwards.

Cordele, Ga., September 1. — Judge
Walter F. George of the Cordele cir
cuit has entered the race for one of
the places on the court of Appeals
provided for by the recen session of
the legislature.
He has the strong endorsement of
the bar of Cordele, Americus Fitz
gerald, Abbeville and twenty or thir
ty other smaller towns near his horn
town, Vienna. He is considered one
of the best equipped men in the race
for the reason that he is now ac
lively engaged on the superior
court herch and is besides a jurist
of rare qualities.
